Hi guys just wandered if you could shed some light on this matter.
at my place of work we have a bosch dishwasher which has broke down twice in 4 months. It refuses to drain. Personally I can't see it bri g over used as it goes on twice a day whichis the same as we use our ever aging hotpoint at home. All plates and other items are rinsedbefore they are placed into the machine yet something keeps chewing the impellar up In the pump. We are all at our whits end with this. I suggested buying an el cheapo dishwasher made by beko as it costs us £100.00 each repair visit we have.

For a home unit, twice a day in an office situation equals about 500 cycles a year. That's about 3 times the number of cycles the energy label is calculated on.

These drain impellers are made of really sturdy plastic, so it would take something really hard to brake them, like glass, which would have to stay in the drain pump until broken and possibly leave scrapes in the drain pump housing, and if something like this gets into the pump, it would most likely take out the non-return valve as well.

Depending on model age, you can acess the drain pump impellar via the sump.
So, my best advice is to check that weekly or at least monthly.
You'll either have to remove 1 T20 screw or the cover will be just clipped into place. More details on that can be found in the user manual.
Check for any debris or pieces of broken dishes (glass etc.).

It's really weired the impellars just fail at once. Even with 1 or 2 wings ripped out they still drain reasonably well. And they are designed to stall by blockage instead of breaking.

My workplace also had Bosch dishwashers. I once checked the filter and found broken glass, paper clips and what have you in there. Reason being that none of the employees paid for the dishwashers so why the F should they use it carefully, right? *rolls eyes*. Anyway, I'd suggest looking for foreign items in there - esp. if the impeller gets "chewed up".

Hi guys ive checked all the filter housing and sump I can feel the impellar it spins freely There was a few grains of rice in there. Me and our housekeeper have both tried the machine today it will fill and run the spray arms drain so far then fault with check water light. I have pulled the machine out and set it to pre rinse and drain into the sink it pumps water for so long in powerful bursts. I suspect that there is a blockage in the waste pipe somewhere
