Bosch DW FInd! Need some reviews!

I know, String me up now!

Ed, my wife does nothing but complain about the Monterrey 21! It takes too long for her liking, but really not much longer than the old 18 did! She doesnt care if it cleans better than the 18, she practically washes the dishes first anyway. Something in the family genes makes them do that.. Her sister and mother do it too!
I actually would throw the Bosch in just so she would appreciate the 21 more! I did feel like a traitor writing that but may just have to turn it into an 18 for her. Use the 21 pump but add a drain pump to it. Anyway, the Bosch turns out to be a good unit so far. I wonder how it compares with the newer models.

Steve. When my Bosch was installed the repair-installer guy told me the reason Bosch is so quit is because Bosch coats the outside of the tub with asphalt. It really makes the machine heavy and very quit. Can't wait to see what your wife thinks of it......Bill in Az.....

Hot water test Results

And the winner is...
Of course the hot water wins!
Figured I would give it a try tonite with the day's load from the KDS21-M.. Nothing prerinsed and just thrown into the Bosch.
Same cycle as last night.. "Regular Cycle."
Incoming water 115 degrees.
First fill and prewash dropped the temp in the machine to about 88-90 degrees. The it filled again and it was up to about 107-110 and it started to do it/s heating thing. Stopped at 154 and then went to rinse.

Cycle started at 7:14 and ended at 8:44. So that took 1 hour and 30 minutes from start to end of timer moving at the end of the dry.

So with the Hot water, we saved approx. 15 minutes of machine running. Of course everything came out spotlessly clean in the shorter time. So it is a toss up to decide which is better, the hot or cold fill. One costs no money to heat the hot water in the storage tank and the other is 15 minutes faster and given the low water usage, I don't think the Hot water heater would be on for that long. The cold fill washes and rinses longer with no real downside to the results.
If that was really my daily driver, I wouldn't have to worry about running the kitchen faucet to get the water hot. The machine takes care of it. It works just like most machines do these days and runs 'til the water is hot but this one seems to do it much faster than anything else I have in the garage!
And that's with hot or cold water.
So that's the facts, people. What do you think?

..that you could be on a winner there...

My 3yr old integrated IAG (rebadged Italian jobbie and I think Servis [eek]) takes 68min on the 60c cycle...with COLD connect

- No prewash
- 60c wash
- cold rinse
- 60c rinse...
- No dry....

Open the door when finished for 5 minutes then push it to (not closed) and everything is pretty much dry...

Spotlessly clean

Finals are over!

Just completed the Econo Wash cycle using hot water fill and here are the results:

Incoming water: 110F
Cooled down to 86F for the prewash
Main wash filled and heated to 130F
Purge
First rinse no heat but tank was warm so it was at about 120F
Final rinse: 155F
Dry

Total time for cycle was 1hr 20 minutes.

So no real difference from the normal cycle but a few minutes.
I would probably opt for the normal all the time and maybe the Pot/Pan cycle if the dishes were really dirty or had more caked on food.
Needless to say, water consumption was the same for all cycles.
That's the story!

All in all, I like how it washes, but am spoiled by the capacity of the my current Kitchenaid as well as the tall tub Whirlpool cousins!

Will be a hard sell to make it the daily driver so don't worry, Ed. At least for now!
