I picked up one of these today.

There doesn't seem to be much information about it to be found on the internet. Seems like the only part available for it is the lower rack wheels.

Can anyone tell me anything about this dishwasher?
I plan to try it out tomorrow and will give you a report and some photos after I do.

It's a basic looking machine, but does have a rinse agent dispenser, and is stainless steel interior, with 2 wash arms and a spritzer on the top of the tank too.

Thanks.
Bob

bosch

i purchased the bosch dishwasher last year, and i wasnt happy with its performance.. in addition, since i got it the stainless steel tub, after washing dishes, give off a terrible odor... i am tossing it out andordered a new kenmore double drawer dishwasher..
my old partner purchased a bosh as well, and had the same complaints as i.. not a wonderful performance over all and an odor..

My 3rd Bosch

I am on my third Bosch dishwasher. Each time I move I have replaced what is there with a Bosch. I am very happy with the performance of mine. I noticed an odor only once and it had something to do with the soap I was using. I am now using Cascade Complete and have no longer noticed an odor.

Sorry to hear you don't like yours. I hope you like your double drawer. I hear people either love or hate them. I don't think it would work well for me because I wash lots of large pots and bowls.

Kenmore Double Drawer

Does anyone know who manufactures this machine for Kenmore?

I looked at it in Sears the other day and was very impressed with it.

Thanks! Scotty

Double Drawer

Sounds like an F&P dishdrawer.

Daddoes loves his, the Australian ones however are still plagued with problems, namely the lid seal, and a psychotic water pressure sensor.

The new Kenmore drawers are NOT sourced from F&P. As I understand, they are a new design developed by Maytag, initiated *before* the merge into Whirlpool, so Whirlpool gets the goodies as part of that deal, marketing them under the Kenmore Elite label.

There are two trim-lines. Double-drawers are available in either a low-line or a higher-line feature set. Singles have the higher-line features, including a Sensor Wash cycle. Both have an "upper" spray (instead of just an arm beneath the rack), which appears to be mounted near the top at the rear of the drawer. The deluxe model has a rotating upper spray similiar to the auger-deflector in the James dishwasher. Rack configuration is different than F&P.

The SaniRinse option reaches 154°F. F&P is higher on the Heavy cycle, hitting 163°F.

F&P uses their variable-speed SmartDrive motor to run the pump for both recirculate and drain, which allows different spray pressures. Kenmore uses a traditional one-speed recirculation pump motor (with soil grinder/filtration), and separate drain pump/motor.

BACK TO THE BOSCH

You know, every time I start a post lately, why is it that people start talking about appliances OTHER THAN what I start the thread to specifically address.

The same thing happened to my Maytag Dutch Oven thread when somebody came in and said _ Oh sure, but it's not as good as a Chambers.

Guys, PLEASE start your own threads to talk about your other appliances, and stop de-railing my threads. It's really wearin' on me. I asked specifically about THIS dishwasher, and I really could care less to hear about double drawers, or F&P dishwashers, or whatever. COULD WE PLEASE REMAIN FOCUSED?

The BOSCH works perfectly (in case anybody's interested) and I'm installing it tomorrow in place of an old Kitchen-aid KDC-15, which is plum wore out.

I Thank you all for your love and support.

Bob

Bob - would like to see a picture of this new find. There was an older Bosch dishwasher at the Habitat store a while ago, I don't remember the model number now, but I couldn't find anything on it when I searched online a few months ago.

A picture might be worth a thousand "on track" words!

Hi Bob,
As to the Bosch I can only say you will love it.
Can`t say much about the particular model number, because Bosch seems to bring out hundrets of slightly different models every year. A picture would be very interesting.
I have a Bosch myself and I am very pleased with it. It is super silent, cleans everything. It is the first DW I had, that even cleans pefectly in the corners of the upper basket, where the sprayarm doesn`t reach directly.
As to people changing the subject, I think you`re a bit overreacting. I don`t think anybody does it deliberately and in my opinion it`s just a part of any normal conversation and can make a thread even more interesting.
Please keep us informed about your new Bosch.

photos of the BOSCH

Here's a few shots of the simple Bosch dishwasher.

One thing that stikes me as being different is the water inlet valve mounted on the front that actually accepts a standard high pressure hose (screw on type). I do have the brass elbow that also screws on there which adapts to the 3/8 flare fitting.

Hi! Your machine seems very differently built from those we get here in Europe... Anyway it seems an old model since the "venturi tube" on the upper rack disappeared years ago from Bosch (and Siemens as well) machines. Also the apparent water heater is no longer used for many years now and the bottom design (all metal and lack of "waterstop" on the inlet hose) make me think it's a special model. My three bosch have all a moulded plastic base which holds the circulating pump, the draining pump and several other circuitry, quite complicate to remove for servicing. I will try to see if I have your model or a similar one on one of my older Bosch catalogs.

Bob, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! for all the photos. Yuppers, that is quite an old one there, but WOW. It's good to see your studio. And I really am glad to see the sunny yellow westinghouse roll-out. I'd never seen one at all until I saw it when I was there in 2002. And I like your new look, slightly different than the last time I saw a pic of you--you handsome hot devil you. A gentle hug, Bob

Thank you Bob for sharing the pictures. This must be a pre-1994 machine because in that year the heat exchanger and the flow through water heater were introduced. I don't exactly remember when the tall tub models were introduced, but I'm sure that was after 1988. So, it must be from 1989 - 1993. The only odd thing is that it looks like it has three cycles (?) which would make this a 3000 model instead of a 2000 model.

Hugs,

Louis

INSTALLED!~

I put it in last night and my buddy loves it. It installed quite easily and will be far superior to the the old 1970 Kitchen-aid that came out. I did keep the stainless steel panels and the hydra-sweep wash arm from the old dishwasher, but the rest had to go.

The three cycles on the BOSCH are rinse & hold, normal wash, and pots & pans.

The machine certainly has held up well considering it is no less than 14 years & possibly up to 18 years old - that's impressive. Thank you, Louis, for providing that very helpful bit of information. There's hardly a speck on it inside or out, truthfully.

I hope you all can come and play with all my appliances & phonographs again next time we have a convention in the Washington D.C. area.

Thank you all for your help and flattering compliments. I guess this is just my winter look, Bob~!

Hugs from Hollywood,

Bob

Bosch is the latest, greatest thing on the market around here (the dishwashers, not the washers).....they are very much in demand and all the dealers apparently are sold out....

washing report

I checked with my friend today and he says he LOVES the machine and that the dishes just came out sparkling.

He said it was perfect, and that's about as good as you can get.

Louis - getting photos of it with dishes may take a short while as it's about an hour away from me in downtown DC now.

Oxydolfan - I don't know you, dude. Can you email me and fill me in - with a photo please. I actually find your posts a little un-settling, and don't think they add anything to any thread in which they appear. That's my opinion and i'm stickin' to it. You posted 4 times in the face thread without a single photo, for one perfect example.

First of all....what is your damage anyway??

It's unsettling to you that I should post in this thread....when I've been posting here regularly for several months? Who are you to declare that my posts don't "add anything"?? What are you basing that on, exactly?

This is a MESSAGE BOARD, "dude"....as opposed to a singles bar or a church dinner. For your information, I do not as of yet have a camera, have NO photos of myself online (recently came out of an LTR), and am actually in the market for a camera.....but have been having difficulty going out to shop for FOOD for myself. I have been out of this house THREE times in two and a half weeks.

Forgive me for not making camera-shopping and cruising on websites a major priority.

Forgive me for not getting a haircut. Forgive the bags under my eyes, the sallow skin, the neon red nose.

Forgive me for having reservations about posting my photo on a meat market thread, one month after a prolonged, wrenching breakup of a twelve-year relationship.

Thanks for putting me into a situation where I have to reveal this vulnerability about myself, and making me feel further unwelcome. You're not the only one, but thanks for adding yourself to their number.

I'm very sorry you were creeped out by any comment I made. It's your damage....but I'll be sure not to be so presumptious in the future.

(You COUNTED my posts??? Erm....whatever.)

Consider yourself added to the growing list of freak jobs I've corresponded with here....

OXYDOLFAN

If you want this thread to be about YOU now, man...o.k. it is.

Robert - and all you other unfortunate fellas reading this -

Let's have your feelings about oxydolfan and his posts, and how he's completely DERAILED my BOSCH thread, yet AGAIN. Everybody, let him know, please. I asked nicely to stay focused -without mentioning a name, and look at this attack upon me that has ensued.

THANKS

Bob

Sweet Jesus ...you know I read the posts here and if it does get off track ...so what!! People do that and it doesnt harm anyone. Bobofhollywood if you get offended by people posting on "your" thread then maybe you shouldnt be posting anything if your panties are going to get into a bunch about it.
I think its rather petty when someone whines about a post getting off subject. Kinda pissed ooohh yeah I am and there was no reason at all to come off on someone. We all have our opinions here and like I said if it does get "off track" so be it.
