The box is from a 1060...
and the PANK convertible is a model 589.
There is also a Hoover Hair dryer too in the box.

and the bidding is already over 100 dollars. dont these bidders have any sense? can anyone tell me why somebody would want to start a bidding war with five days left on the auction?
Serious money for that vac for sure!

really isn't that much. $250 is about what a roughly comparable new machine would go for.
It's more of a surprise to me that hundreds of people every day pay $200 for Bissells that won't last five years.

I was just recently outbid by mr. 649, he was so triumphant he just had to email me and gloat!!!

The seller of these items had family that worked for Hoover back in the day, thats where they came from.
These items are insane for sure, and they still have a long way to go before they end. I do hope Mr 649 hasn't cleared the space for that 589 yet, who knows who has yet to bid!

I wouldn't be too happy about winning it, based on the way the seller answered the question on the vacuum auction. He was going to just slap a label on the 1060 box and send it!!!!!!!!!! Luckily, he has had questions about the boxes too so he doesn't think he'll ship it unlss it's inside another box but still, COME ON! Use some bubble wrap and packing peanuts. I would hate for it to get broken in shipment because of lack of packing. The claim with the shipper would be denied for sure.

A: Hi, There is no owners manual, and my wife looked at the auction and she said the switch that is shown in the box is not for this machine, but since it was photo'd with the auction it will remain with the item. Auction comes with what is shown. I was going to ship item in the box shown but there are many questions about the boxes without the items, so probably not going to just through a shipping tag on the box and ship that way.

Can you imagine paying all that money for the box and having it ruined by shipping??
I would suspect the "unused-ness" of that 589. At some point it was probably assembled and used, as the cord is not wound as it would have been from the factory. Granted its a very nice 589...if it was complete(box, manuals) then maybe it would warrant the price its at.
I guess some people have money to burn!

I would love to have that Hoover but for that price? Crazy! I agree about the cord and the seller seems to be kind of cavalier about the shipping based on the above post.
Should be fun to watch along with the Westinghouse Convertovac. I know Ida would love to have that and she probably will!

The best thing about the Westinghouse is that it will go SO WELL with Ida's hair! Of course everything she buys goes well with her hair.
589's in that condition are a dime a dozen? Most I've seen were pretty beat up.
BTW, the Hoover 67 is in the garage awaiting Helen Lawson's hair and make-up team. Probably will be more of a fall project and then she will make her debut in glorious full color. (What is the base color again that I can get at Home Depot?) It is so hot here that 2 Hoovers and a Kirby spontaneously conbusted, (they were near the window), and all that's left is ashes, just little ole ashes...................
