well what a wonderful present, and how good you are waiting to open it until you've your friends with you, the pleasure will be all the greater for sharing the event.
And post some photos of your mini wash in, have a great time
well saturday was its unboxing and here it is, theres just one small problem...
once unpacked, we plugged in and started the machine on a spin to test. it ran, for about 1 minute, then it just stopped and all the machines lights went out, no big bangs or dramatic happenings, it just stopped and wouldn't run afterwards, w suspected the door lock, so ill be swapping it with the one off the bendix 7128 to try out, if anyone knows otherwise that it may not be the door lock, please let me know asap!!

all rubber components were as good as new, wiring was as good as we could see, the whole machine is in very good order and must have been stored in perfect conditions to be in such good order. while the meet up was in progress, mark brought the matching 7447A dryer down!
Thanks again Mark, Richard, Mike and Chris!

have you got a multimeter to check you've got power coming out of the mains suppressor, when we had that same problem with the new in box philips back in the spring, it ran for a while then kept tripping the board, fitting a new suppressor sorted the problem.
unfortunately not, is it still worth trying the door interlock tomorrow just in case? in worried by doing so it could blow the 2nd interlock somehow?

Those Vintage Boxes Of Bold & Persil Are Worth The Price
You could make your money selling them on, but am sure they will remain. *LOL*
Shouldn't do anything until testing with a mulimeter. However am sure you'll get things sorted soon.
One has learned from experience when it comes to NIB older appliances best to go slow and careful when bringing them back to life. Not all sleeping beauties rise with a kiss and are ready to go.
yesterday i swapped the capacitors and supressors on the 7147 with the one on the 7128 and the 7147's worked in the 7128 so the next thing im going to try is bypassing the door lock directly, apparently i need to connect the live wire with switched live? someone tell me if this is right, dont want to be blowing things up, i was going to swap the interlocks of the 2 machines but it turns out the 7147 has 5 wires going in and the 7128 has 3 so i thought best not to

I can't see it being the door lock if all the lights on the machine went out. Surely the power light would still be on? Simple I know but have you tried to make sure all the connection are free from rust and making proper contact were they are meant to? A bit time consuming but I would check them all first before playing around with the door lock
there is no mains on light, the only lighs are for the heater and the door lock so thats why im thinking it must be that, at some point ill go over all connections again, but from what ive seem they all loom ok

i found it was the door lock after all! i fitted a replacement on Saturday, plumbed it in for the first time and tried a load, the machine ran perfectly, well almost, the door locked light went out about 10 or so mins in, the machine still completed the cycle though!!
ive also made a video of the machine in action...
Any Chance you could take a picture of the drum, i need a perfectly centered picture for some machines im designing. appreciate the help if you could post some.
