Hi guys, I found these magazine pages with GEs washers I've never seen in my life. They were sold in Brazil, believe to be in the 60s The first photo appears to be an older model, the second would be the update. The pictures are bad because they are not my own.

Yes, it looks more like Hotpoint, particularly the second picture.

They both look like our solid-tub Hotpoints, the second ad for sure but notice the (likely) reset button in the lower center of the panel and what looks like a Duo-Tub wash in the first.  

 

Can you translate the ad copy for us, Eduardo?  Thanks for posting these, so interesting.

peteski50, I have no more technical details of the GE washers, I didn't even get to know them.

gansky1, I will just translate the reference on the model.

In the first ad says are launching three models. The first is the Super-Automatic Filter-Flo Luxe (I believe to be in the picture), Super-Automatic Filter-Flo (must be a model without the hot water selector) and the Super-Automatic (must be a model only with the control dial and without the Filter-Flo plate)
5 kg capacity.
The agitator works faster than the others washers and it's clean better.
Spins at 600 rpms.
Over-Flo system that prevents dirt from settling on clothes at the end of the wash.
Filter-Flo system that removes lint.

In the second ad text is unreadable, but apparently says the same thing, not only quotes that has 3 models, I think it was already the end of the first phase of the GE washers was in Brazil.

GE returned to Brazil in the early 2000s but controlled by Mexican Mabe. She came up with proposals for high capacity washers and intelligent washing systems. GE / Mabe Brazilian declared bankruptcy 2 years ago because their produros were of low quality.

That doesn't just look like a Hotpoint, it looks like the very much coveted Duo-Load!!!! The thing that looks like it might be a filter pan is a dead-ringer for the cover for the Duo-Load mini-tub (not a filter, but a mechanism for controlling the water for the small load). Very interesting!!!

That's not just a Hotpoint cabinet top (like our GE clones of the '70's), the whole cabinet is Taylor Avenue. As looks the agitator cap.

 

I've been looking for a Duo-Load in the wrong country.

Bajaespuma, I did not understand how this Hotpoint Duo-load washer works. It would be similar to the Mini-Basket GE but more improved? How can wash two loads at the same time in different temperature? I'm very curious.
