In a 1957 issue of Ppoular Mechanics they have an article about a reader that converted a Maytag "Grey Ghost" wringer washer into a Barbeque-they removed the agitator from the tub-then sealed it-the tube now holds the coals and rack.the wringer mechanism was redone to turn a rotesirrie spit.If only they could make the conversion --reversible would be interesting.Say a large pan that would fit into the washer drum after the agitator was removed to hold the coals and rack.

This should be done at the next wash-in

That would be a hoot. Who would be the first one wearing a lamp shade (oh I mean a mini-basket) on their head, and nothing else.

I've brewed for years and recently got into whole grain brewing.  I've also worked on washers for years.  When researching equipment for the whole grain transformation, I came across these vids a few months ago.  There is NO WAY IN HADES that I would ever put any type of foodstuffs in a washer.  In the comments he claimed he cleaned it out.  Well, I do not think that you can get every droplet of body ooge, short-n-curlies, and poo out of a machine.  If it were brand new, maybe.  I know that I wouldn't want to drink any beer out of that machine.  eeewwww!
