Hidey Ho neighbors!

Well, we've had an exhausting week doing the Brimfield antiques shows and thought we'd take the time to confirm what's been a verbal rumour up until this point. Yes, we'll be having another get together (wash in) in July, and we'll time it with Brimfield!

The planned date will be Saturday, July 15th for the gathering. Yes, the Brimfield show will be running this day, but it will also be running for 4 days before this. That's when the serious shopping is done! If anyone would like to come in a day or two early and come with us to Brimfield, we have room in the car for a couple of passengers. We can always do a caravan of 2 or more cars if there are enough people interested! Friday is a good day since there is one new field with fresh dealers that opens that day, and the rest of the day can be spent picking through more of the show. We've found lots of goodies that were brought in mid-week, or missed the rest of the week, during these slower, more leisurely go throughs.

We can talk about this some more, but we thought we'd get the basic idea out there to see what you all thought. One thought for Saturday would be to have a good old fashioned New England lobster fest on Saturday. Yes, lobster! The details would need to be worked out, but as far as we can tell, the only thing we'd ask is that anyone wanting lobster would pitch in for the cost of the lobster. Typically, this is about or under $10. We'd get some salt potatoes and salad, shrimp, some chicken on the grill for those who don't do lobster..... Again, it can be discussed some more, but we wanted to get the basic idea out.

Let us know what you think, and here's a little something we got this week (see the pics we're posting in this thread).

Hope to hear from you,
Rich "perc-o-prince" and Chuck (p-o-p's other half)

We're so glad that y'all want to come back again!

Richm, It was great to see you as well. I just wish that we had more time to chat!

"What is this you have pictured? I assume its a Brimfield find?" It is a Monitor Aerator Washing Machine from, I think, the 1950's. Yes it was kind of a Brimfield find. It was sitting in a shop on the outskirts of the show. I saw it last Sunday but the dealer wouldn't negotiate the price so I had to wait all week and hope that it would still be there! Someone was looking quite seriously at it when we went in to try and buy it at the end of the week. It needed lubrication to get it working but it is in quite nice shape. It was very well cared for and now works great. What attracted me was the size. It's quite small at only two and a half feet tall and the agitator is mounted mid way up the back wall. We'll post some pics of some of the other goodies that we picked up at Brimfield. It was a blast!!!!! Four days of getting up at 4:30am and trudging through the rain and mud....It was magical :-)

We will have to give the Monitor a run through at the July wash-in!!

We were tired when we posted last night and think that we should make a seperate post titled more appropriatly for the July Was In. The pictures that I mentioned will be posted under this current Brimfield thread but please make any July wash in comments/suggestions on the new thread. Thanks!

Rich
