So I have been using my LG Tromm for about 2 years now. I have checked the duct, exhausted properly. I have Googled and found these dryers just don't seem to last anyway, I recently the matching washer to go with so I'm hoping I can fix it.

I can set the dryer to any type of setting, I have tried every combination and it just wont stay on, it has its moments where it works just fine and others not. I can turn it on and it runs for maybe 4 minutes, 8 minutes, 30 minutes, etc. When it kicks off the drying light blinks and the timer counts down. The elements seem fine, its heating well. Just doesn't stay on long enough to dry anything. If you have any ideas or experience please let me know what may be wrong!
 
If you use dryer sheets,they leave a wax ,soap like residue on the sensor bar. Take a steel wool pad and buff it on the bar. Then,take a damp bath towel and set the dryness on normal. It should do fine. If not, that may need replacement.
 
If the dryer is stopping before the load is dry and you are using an auto dry cycle (i.e. sensor dry) the moister sensors may be coated with fabric softener residue. Try wiping them off with a cloth and rubbing alcohol. Be sure the sensor surface is dry before you try to use the dryer. If this doesn't work try using the timed dry setting.
 
I thought about this also. I did use fabric sheets for a couple months, and timed dry doesn't seem to bypass it either. I looked for the moisture sensor bars but I didn't find them (next to the lint filter?) there is some type of sensor in the middle of the lint filter that has 2 prongs on top of it, or is the moisture bars located elsewhere?
 
an odd thing to always check, or do as a first resort......

unplug the unit, wait a few minutes and plug back in....a lot of times, it resets the unit.....they have been cases, like with the Calypso, you have to unplug for a few days to get rid of the static charge build up.....

not that this may exactly fix your issue, but its a simple thing to try, and keep in the back of your head....for some things, it works

Do as Mr. Miagi and others suggested...

 

If no better, slide the old girl out about a foot, disconnect the dryer vent hose @ the dryer...run a load of heavy wet towels on timed and auto...Any Difference??

 

If that does not do it,...load the drum with about 12 pounds of gun powder, throw in a box of wooden kitchen matches, and set outside, and run on hottest setting.

 

After you sweep up all the pieces, go to Craigslist, and buy a $100 dollar Kenmore/Whirlpool 29 incher...

 

For the next 20 or so years, trouble free!

Life is too short for them damn LowGrades to cause 1 ounce of worry.

Honestly to me it sounds as though the motor maybe going on on thermal overload. I saw a vid once on this a dryer randomly stopping thruoughout the cycle and that was exactly what it was.
 
LaVidaBoem .. Yes I have almost put it out in the front yard.. I disconnected the duct, still does the samething.

My father has a whirlpool to give me.

Supersurgilator possibly yes.

Yogitunes yes I also did that.

So I'm probably down to the moisture sensor or motor.

Thanks yall I'll either take it apart or bring in the whirlpool.

LaVidaBoem, you do have a good point! My duct is in the floor & the Kenmore doesn't give me an option for that so it sits a little out in the floor. I have a Kenmore 80 series fridge, it came with my parents house that they bought 21 years ago.

Supersurgilator, it is the 400 .. And no it doesn't have that option.

As I am sure you are aware, keep those coils clean on the 'fridge, and she'll go another 20 years.

Eddy, its very funny you say that .. When my father gave me the fridge he gave me a vacuum attachment to clean it .. Said I should do it every 6 months .. He does secret inspections some times! Hes hard on me, but hes just trying to teach me to care. My car was 4 quarts low of oil once, he beat me with the dip stick! Lol that was my 18th birthday present!

I suppose if you don't have any physical or mental problems from it...its the best medicine sometimes...

 

Mine is 84 now...he still cracks the Whip!
