I do have and use EXCLUSIVELY a 4.5 frig, and a 3.5 freezer, and have been getting my hot water from a GE 6 gallon 120 volt, 2000 watt water heater I bought in 2010 for $46.

Where is your brain that you can't conceive of that as reality?

We have a GE version in our house since 1990. It's been fixed several times over the years but overall I really like it. We also had one up at our last cabin as well that I thought was really cool, I think it was a KitchenAid. Not sure. We've only had the place for a few years but I don't believe we've ever had any problems with it. I may consider getting one for my next house if they make any that's gas powered because I'm set with going for a gas refrigerator. But as of now they don't currently.

Panason, how many freezers and refrigerators are you up to at this point, plugged in and filled with food in your home?
What sizes are they?

In the house I'm living in currently, 9. In my next house, 2 or no more than 3 depending on space and how good of a deal I can get for gas refrigerators/freezers because they're definitely not cheap.

KitchenAid built in fridges are rather nice, well if that sort of thing is up ones street.

Posted link to auction in another forum but am doing so here again for illustrative purposes. You can see ventilation is sorted at top of unit though this would be hidden to some extent by cabinetry. Never the less air circulation would still be accomplished if unit is installed correctly because while "hidden" to naked eye there still would be proper space for unit to breathe.

The inside is gray! Dingy gray and the box is way too fat and over size.

I can see why they aren't selling.

It's hilarious though that someone would want to get involved with all the dramatics of such a thing. Humans are incredible at times and other times really stupid.

Those KA fridges are very nice.  The silver interior is accented with wood and as a plus it's well lit.

If not, I would think one could buy an LED light kit and out fit the inside of their frig with whatever fancy-schmancy stuff they need. Have them come on with the door switch.

Those KA fridges go for $10k to $11k new at retail, so those "suckers" or however you want to see them got themselves a bargain.

Keep in mind there are those out there who believe anyone willing to pay even a dollar for a vintage, ancient or obsolete appliance wants their head examined.

Do you have another refrigerator/freezer as an overflow. Those Monitor Tops, while more reliable than death and taxes, are awfully small...especially the freezer section.

If you take care of a sub-zero, you shouldn't have problems with it...

Clean the condensers regularly, make sure you don't leave spills on the inside etc..

Every built-in kitchenaid we ever sold, we replaced with sub-zeros. They seem to have issues with citrus being stored on the inside, causing pin-hole leaks in the evaporators.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. We are getting a SubZero with bottom drawer freezer. I’m super diligent about maintenance so I don’t think it will be an issue.
