Burned Frigidaire

Not sure if this link will work, but look at the burn marks on the back of what I believe to be a Kenmore/Frigidaire/GE dryer. Not sure if it had a fire or if it's just from the element, but I sure as heck wouldn't want to buy it!

I am a bit surprise that they would put a dryer with a burnt heating element for sale rather than throwing it out or replace the heating element before reselling I sure would not buy such a fire hazard dryer.

if its been fixed, I don't see a problem with it.....

but that's the thing with dryers that have the heating element in close proximity to the back wall......think about what it does to the rear of the drum.....for machines like this, like when drying a big blanket, best to dry on low, as the whole drum turns with the load....

if it becomes that big of a deal.....just spray some paint on it......I would be more concerned with rust situation...

I can see it happening just in normal use, honestly, but especially if the element sagged and possibly partially shorted to itself, causing extreme heat in one area. We had a Frigidaire electric dryer for a few years, and when it was on, you could feel the heat radiating off the back. It had 4 heat settings- Lukewarm, Hot, Hotter, and Cremate.

This is on every single frigidaire dryer like this I've ever seen. It's normal. Don't worry about it. It's not a problem.
