Washer Capacity

I have to say I agree with PeterH770....buy a well built machine with the best features that you can enjoy day in and day out.... the German machines seem to be the best. I had thought the same about doing my king comforter, but I got a Bosch Axxis front loader, and made a duvet cover for the comforter that would fit in the smaller wash tub. :)

LG Problem

The number 1 reason most LGs stop draining is because the owners never check the little trap inside the bottom door.If you have anything in your pockets,it's going to wind up there along with excess lint. When it builds up and is not removed,it causes the pump to get clogged.IT IS A SAFETY FEATURE TO HELP SAVE THE PUMP FROM GETTING DAMAGED FROM COINS,PINS,AND OTHER MATTER THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED BEFORE WASHING!!!!If people would just take the time and read their use and care manual cover to cover and learn more about their appliances, there would be fewer repairs/returns.

German Front Loaders...

Is it true that the Whirlpool Duet machines are built in Germany? My Mom was told that when she bought hers (she has been happy with them for 4 years now....no problems)

Yes, the Whirlpool Duets and also the Kenmores HE 3 and 4 models are built by Bauknecht in Germany. Bauknecht is a company that was bought up by Whirlpool in the past. Unfortunately Bauknecht is one of the lesser German brands. In a recent readers review of the Dutch consumer organisation it appeared that Bauknecht machines needed more repairs than those of any other brand. I hope they did a better job with the Duets and HE's.
