Rummaging through my mental notes for something to make for the end of Summer Labor Day cookout, decided on an oldy but goody. It's a simple desert know by many names.
Here is the recipe:
Base:
2c.Flour
2 sticks melted Butter
1c. chopped Pecans
Mix well and pat into 9x13 baking dish. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely.
First Layer:
8 oz. Whipping Cream
8 oz. softened Cream Cheese
1 c. Powdered Sugar
Whip cream then mix in cream cheese and powdered sugar, whip a bit more until fluffy. Spread over cooled cookie crust. Chill.
Second layer:
3 small or 2 large boxes of instant chocolate pudding -- (you can use cooked or home made but it must be cold)
4 1/2 c. Milk
Mix pudding as directed using ONLY 4 1/2 c. Milk. Spread over cream cheese mixture, chill.
Third layer:
Your choice, a tub of Cool Whip or 12 oz. of whipping cream whipped. Spread over chocolate pudding, sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired. Chill overnight.
Very rich and high in calories so it's best for a party to spread those calories around....
