Speaking for myself

I have been absolutly delighted to see how Dick has progressed with his home, and it has been great to check in from time to time. I would LOVE to have undertaken a project such as this, and Dick has done a wonderful sympathetic job on his home.

Ok so the thread has drifted a bit. So what? The reply section is headed "Subject drift" and IMHO long may it run

Everyone whos seen this thread

And follows it already knows that it's not about the Flair anymore, and its O.K.
There are other threads that are about Flairs, if that's what someone's interested in.

I think this thread is about more, as it should be.
It's about a home!
And about the man who is pouring himself into this home.

So it's about recovery, hope, health, and heart!

The thread doesn't néed go anywhere. It's fine just where it's at (IMHO)

There is nothing wrong with a thread about.....

A man and his home, about health, heart, and all the good and bad that goes along with in everyday life. And yes, much of this thread has been very interesting to read. BUT, if we follow the criteria under the "create a new thread" tab, the Super forum is not supposed to involve these matters, it is for kitchen appliances, detergents, and some automotive topics. Kevin is correct, this thread reads like a Facebook page. Almost the verbatim definition of what Stan mentions above is what applies to the criteria for the 'As The Tub Turns' forum.

Click the 'Member Profiles' button. At last count there are 2,623 registered members here. Unless all 2,623 members can have the option of having their own self perpetuating status update thread in the Super forum, then this thread shouldn't be here anymore. This thread is supposed to be about a Flair range. Even if it drifted, the drift topics should still apply to the Super forum.

I think this thread would be most appropriate, following AW.org guidelines, in the A T T forum.

This thread harms no one. While it may be a bit off the forum rules there is more value in it than many others. If we are to appoint a thread Gestapo many threads would disappear and the side effect would be a much less hospitable site.

If you don't like the thread ignore it. No one forces anyone to click on anything.

Curiosity has often gotten the best of me when I've seen this thread once again hanging near the top of the list, and I'll open it to take a look.  I think I'm over it now.

Regardless of its content or the obvious bumps from the OP to keep it alive, this thread has gotten way too cumbersome and takes longer to load than the picture-laden bear threads, and I find that annoying.  Maybe my connection is slower than average, but the bottom line is that AWO is not Facebook.  Robert didn't just create the ATT forum for this type of subject matter -- he created a whole web site known as Friends and Husbands for threads like this one.

My brother who operates a successful appliance repair business in San Jose has stockpiled several "parts" for Flair ranges, among them cookmasters and control knobs. He's had a few customers that were very unhappy upon ordering a surface unit control knob and discovered it worked but looked nothing like the originals...my kinda folks.

There, this thread is "back on track" so all you complainers...QUITYERBELLYACHIN.
