Hello everyone! I'm glad to be back in the UK and online again!

Was just browsing through the thread "Ebay UK November 2007" and I noticed that there was a picture of a Hotpoint Electronic De Luxe (unknown RPM or model number), does any AW.org member know what model it might be? Was it the 95470/95472?

Or maybe it was the 9570?

Thanks alot for helping! I really appreciate it!
Brandon.

And P.S. Sorry matchboxpaul for using your picture! :)

judging by it's appearance, this must be a shop exclusive model, don't know the exact model number but it looks like it was part of the New Generation range or was sold after they were replaced, I'm not sure if that helps but we'll get to the bottom of this :)

Post New Gen Exclusive...

Judging by the short 4 digit model number under the logo and the red lining.
Could be some sort of Currys exclusive that used up any leftover New Gen parts.

Hi Brandon.

Its not my picture, so no need to apologise - tis the ebay sellers :-)

The machine in the photograph is indeed an exclusive, but is actually a Next Generation era machine, produced for Currys and introduced in April 1988.

Its a 9513 Electronic 800 Super, though it has been fitted with a replacement powder drawer fascia from a 95450/452/470/472/490/492.

Below is a photo of a machine that was acquired for spares a few years back...

The replacement for the 9513 was the 9573 Electronic 800 Super, which was visually identical to the 13 but with the recessed door.

Will do a Hotpoint Next Generation onwards thread soon!

Paul

9513

Oh right, so that explains why I thought it was a 95472/95470, would actually like to see that model or I think there was a thread where it was posted.

Thanks for the information though, never really got to see many Hotpoint with that style door, more or less with the "recessed" door as you said, I'm sure I've seen a 95450 or 95452 on spin once, although was too scared to go near it as I was about 5 or 6 and the spin noise scared me! But I'd love to return to that house!

Paul, do you know what that symbol meant underneath "Electronic De Luxe" or "Electronic Super Plus" etc? From what I've heard it must've had something to do with Ariel, although Hotpoint recommend Persil....

I would do anything to get my hands on a New Generation, I'm looking out for either a 95450/95452 or 95620/95622! Just gotta love those old hotpoints!

P.S. The washer pictured, is that a 95470? (Sorry Newwave1), guys I know some pictures aren't from the member themselves, but I just always like to be kind, not to steal anyone's photo! :).

Oh ok, I always wondered what that was, I think many other members thought the same thing about Ariel, but then again Hotpoint always recommend Persil. As for the machine, I think the thing that made it a mystery was that it had a New Generation drawer, but was a Next Generation, good ol' Hotpoint!

I've worked on hundreds of these Hotpoints and to me they are just brown fascia Hotpoints with a GEC motor at the top. There are subtle differences in specification, spin speed etc. but they are basically all the same, with similar load capacity and wash performance. They are well worth having, as the build quality is better than most of the stuff available today but I can't see the point of holding out for a particular model. If I wanted one of these machines I would look out for the type with 2 grey plastic strips screwed on to secure the door seal.

imagine having to replace the motor on a Hotpoint 18series, do you have to remove the whole cabinet? But don't get me wrong, I love those 18 series, especially the Liberator and Nick's (nickuk) 18580 and Hotpoint95622's 18680 and 1851! I do wish I could find a 18 series chrome door/microtronic X2000 or even a Liberator!

Brandon.
