We don't always here stories about good kids, so I thought you might want to see our own Westytoploader (complete with tie, no less) as he was being inducted into the National Honor Society.

Not only is he becoming very knowledgeable about appliances, he is a good student, holds a part-time job, and is active in extracurricular activities.

I'm a proud mom! Say YAY for good kids! :-D

Woo for Austin!

If only I was as good... hehe. I'm the perfect example of a school failure :-).

Venus, you should be very proud :-).

Jon

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

When I was in JR. High School, I was in the National Junior Honor Society....then in High School, I went on to the National Honor Society. When I graduated, I kept my NJHS & NHS patches. When my niece graduated from Georgia Tech as a Biochemical Engineer (with Honors), I gave her my patches which she sewed onto a sweater that she still wears. We are both now in the same chapter of MENSA. Just one more thing to keep a family close. Hopefully your son will be able to do the same. We Roanoker's are VERY proud of him. I'm sure you're VERY proud too!!! Mark

Applause, applause, applause!

Congratulations to Austin, Venus and Mr. Venus! Way to go guy and the pressure only builds more now--just kidding.

With a Mom like Venus and a name like Venus, should we have expected any less? Hard to believe but I was NHS kid myself from '67-'69, (my God I'm old), and look how great I turned out?

Continued success and at the next Washin or Vacuum convention, remind me to get a bottle of champagne to open. Keep up the good work.

Charlie

Congratulations!

Congratulations, Austin.

Way to go, Venus!

I did not make NHS, but I did get departmental honors in English.

A gr8t big Texas, HELL YEAH!

WTG...for Austin!
Venus, you and hubby must be so proud, I know I would be.
Congrates!!!
Would you like to have my 14 y.o. daughter to tutor? LMAO, j/k! She's a handful! I wouldn't wish that on my worse enemy, hehe.
Charlie, instead of champagne, Hurricanes would be more appropriate (not to say get ya drunk faster, hehehe).
I know, that was in "bad taste"....sorry

Hauls (_Y_) outta here b4 she gets :slapped:

PS: Venus-get that boy something "special" for doing such a bang up job!!! :-)

Oh no, this is what happens when I'm not around...like she really had to post about it! There are other digital photos, but unfortunately my dad cut out most of the girls (including one VIP right at the edge...) from those. We'll have to see how the 35mm's turned out, and if they're decent I'll scan them!

Charlie, thanks, maybe you could convince her that a lime-green DAM (my first non-self-propelled model) and a Metro (Metropolitan Vacuum, Suffern, NY) "Turbotronic" (with woodgrain finish no less) would make some nice gifts! ;-)

All kidding aside, it was a very nice event and I was glad to be one of the selected inductees. Thanks everyone; now we'll see how I last...;-)

Congrats Austin!

Way to go, I was not NHS material in high school, but I did make Dean's list a few times in college!
Which lime green DAM are you interested in as there were two. The Spring Green model 1130, or the bali green model 1149?

Jeff

Yay!

You're an official nerd B-) . Just kidding of course.

I never made honor society or anything like that. I was too busy being bullied and traumatized by the other kids. You know you have it bad when even the NERDS pick on you. I shoulda been one of them but they outkasted me because of my birth defect. And who did I hang out with? The 2 or 3 other losers that nobody else liked. School was horrible for me and I was and am still glad it's over with. Yeah, school sucked.

Sorry for the rant, congrats again.

I made the *other* deans list

BTW: Austin, I never made the deans list, however I made it to the deans office quite a few times in high school! LOL!! Made it through college without any problems though. (:

congrates!

I never liked school and never made any list but the all those who tardy list, (96 days in RED) for being late!

Now being a ex-bus driver, I know what it means to be on time, for if you missed my bus you're too late.....

LOL

Retromom

Congratulations ,you're a wonderful Mom and have a wonderful Son!

You actually remind me of my Mom in many ways! She was a WONDERFUL Woman and a great friend. Which I can see you are to your son.

I am so glad to get to know you both!
My Mom came with me to my first Edsel Convention when I was Austin's age.

Austin! always encourage your Mothers friendship--NO ONE else is EVER gonna love you more!!

And Congratulations to you on your induction (wow I got to use an appliance term) in NHS.

You worked hard for that Good On Ya! As the Australians say!

And Now Rosalie would like to add alittle something to the moment:

Atta Boy!

Well done, Austin! Keep up the good work!

Retromom,

Apples do not fall far from the tree so obviously you guys are doing your job well, congrats! Did you have to bribe Austin to wear the tie? *LOL*

Again, well done. It is nice to hear good things about our young people.
