This is a horrible picture, but for some of you Speed Queen afficionados, you may be able to identify it. Is this a 1970's set? If so, I assume it was manufactured byMcGraw Edison and has the solid tub and straight vane agitator. Correct or no.

Anyone have a set like this. I am mildly interested in getting it.

Mid 90's, we bought a washer (ours was a low end, single speed) in 1994, and to this day it was the best washer we have ever owned. The only repair in the 13 years we owned it was a belt at about 11 years. I say go for it.

thanks

Thanks, Dustin. Can you remember much about them like capacity, stainless tub? solid tub?
long spray rinse? neutral drain or spin drain?

Tub is 3.3 cu ft

Stainless tub, not solid. Outer tub is porcelain-on-steel. Tranny is all metal. Has one belt that runs things. Plastic direct mounted pump on motor. Control panel comes open with ease, 2 self tapping sheet metal screws I think. Once open all innards are readily accessable.
Parts are available on Ebay as well.

Barry, one way to tell the older solid tub machines from the newer perforated tubs, is by the lid.

The solid tub machines have a side hinged lid, the newer perf-tub machines are rear hinged like a Maytag.

Another way to tell in this case, is by the color.   I believe almond appeared in '79-'80 and I also believe the last solid tub SQ washers were built in either 1977 or perhaps 1978.
