I'm sure the agitation will be powerful because it takes up a great portion of space in the standard size tubs. Will it be as great in an extra large washtub?

It might be a bit undersized and it won’t turn over large loads as well as the Panta-Vane and Penta-Swirl along with the dual action agitator Kenmore used in their machines. The Vari-Flex was meant for the smaller tub Kenmores and I believe Kenmore was still using the same size of tubs my 1963 Whirlpool uses well into the early 70’s on their Lady Kenmore machines.

After further research and investigating from AW.org threads...visual

comparisons and gu-estimations...the Vari Flex agitator could possibly handle

large capacity washloads...and effectively I might add. When I saw the video of

the Maytag A806 with a Kenmore Super Roto-Swirl agitator

in action, I was amazed and became fascinated with thought of other agitators I

could use in my 712...the Vari Flex is my 2nd choice as best performing Kenmore agitator beside the Super Roto-Swirl

...discovered the Vari Flex agitator base is about an 1/8" smaller than the Dual Action agitator and slightly bigger than the Power-fin agitator

...and will take up 1/2" more of space at the bottom of the tub once the vanes are set to HI

The Vari Flex agitator will actually out perform the Power-fin because it is quite capable of very good rollover when overloaded...Power-fin can not!!!

The standard capacity Super Roto-Swirl agitator have been used in 1982 Large or Extra capacity 2.80 cu.ft washbaskets...see pics

1982 Kenmore Large capacity with the Super Roto-Swirl...see videos
