This one is mine........

Here is our newly restored '56 Hotpoint Combination. This model has the regular door bins, not the big bottom bin that was offered on some models that year. Original finish except for the kick plate. A lot of compound buffing and hand polishing went into this one. Some touch up paint on the front of the door too. A new grounded power supply cord was added for safety. Also, a new door gasket courtesy of Antique Appliances. Have the thermo set between 4 and 5 and it's kicking butt. This unit completes our Hotpoint pink appliance trio !!!!!!

The interior

Pull out sliding drawers in this one. I had to recreate the two turquoise side panels out of aluminum as the original plastic side panels were disintegrating.

.

1948 General Electric. New paint about 7 years ago, new grounded cord, new lower door gasket.Been working great!Defrost it in the Spring and Fall. Twice per year is not bad. You will notice more vintage Hotpoint/GE fridges than any other brands. I really do think they built the best, back in the day.

Good Lawd.

That 1956 HotPoint is the exact Fridge that I grew up with.

Gorgeous  Restoration.  And the Interior Shot brought back a lot of memories.

Rick, your GE is also stunning.

I think ours was a 1955 in our Summer Cottage.  You're right.  I think GE and Hotpoint were the "Last Word" in Refrigerators back then.
