As the title states, can we start a picture thread? Can't get enough of looking at the different and interesting refrigerators of that era..
If this thread is not appropriate mods can delete it..

I'll start with my Philco..

I never get tired of seeing anyone's appliances, so Ralph - you can always post another shot, another angle, a night view, anything..opened, closed, both. I wouldn't mind seeing it.

Then I've got a dead duck of a 1964 Frigidaire, which is just like PhilR's.

'57 GE Combination

OK, I snapped a few new pix.  This is a drinks/party/overflow fridge in the laundry room.

The freezer was last defrosted on 9/21 and a new door gasket was installed at the same time.  With the old gasket, there would be major frost accumulation after just a few days and any boxed items would be limp from the moisture.  It's a civilized scene in there now.

Cory,

I contacted Larry at Modern soon after I got the fridge a few years ago and snagged Gem Line gaskets for both doors.   They were not cheap.   I had been dragging my feet about replacing the freezer gasket but recently things really began to get out of hand.

I still haven't bothered with the refrigerated section's gasket.  There are logistical issues with that one since it's a tight space where the fridge is located and getting at the bottom of the door is nearly impossible without tilting the whole thing back.

This one is mine........

Here is our newly restored '56 Hotpoint Combination. This model has the regular door bins, not the big bottom bin that was offered on some models that year. Original finish except for the kick plate. A lot of compound buffing and hand polishing went into this one. Some touch up paint on the front of the door too. A new grounded power supply cord was added for safety. Also, a new door gasket courtesy of Antique Appliances. Have the thermo set between 4 and 5 and it's kicking butt. This unit completes our Hotpoint pink appliance trio !!!!!!

The interior

Pull out sliding drawers in this one. I had to recreate the two turquoise side panels out of aluminum as the original plastic side panels were disintegrating.

.

1948 General Electric. New paint about 7 years ago, new grounded cord, new lower door gasket.Been working great!Defrost it in the Spring and Fall. Twice per year is not bad. You will notice more vintage Hotpoint/GE fridges than any other brands. I really do think they built the best, back in the day.

Kevin, that '56 Hotpoint is a real stunner!  There's probably no end to the compliments you must surely receive about it.

Good Lawd.

That 1956 HotPoint is the exact Fridge that I grew up with.

Gorgeous  Restoration.  And the Interior Shot brought back a lot of memories.

Rick, your GE is also stunning.

I think ours was a 1955 in our Summer Cottage.  You're right.  I think GE and Hotpoint were the "Last Word" in Refrigerators back then.

I think I have five or six older refrigerators, but here's one that i picked up a little while ago and still at the front of the garage where I can take a photo. It runs nicely and next spring I'm going to see if I can't shine up the exterior.
