Can You Recommend a Good Dishwasher?

I have been looking over these two Kenmore
models. Now someone told me the pumps don't
last on them. That they're Whirlpool built.

Do you folks believe in extended warranties?
I basically do not.

I'm torn between the two of these. I wonder if the one that is
43 dollars cheaper is better? Can they put a stainless steel
tub into the 13112 for 43 bucks without skimping on something
else?

We finally made a decision. We opted not to buy the
5 year extended warranty which is $180.

I love my Maytag Tall Tub for 5 years now. Great flexibility on loading and cleans just about anything I throw at her.

Sometimes a little noisy when grinding some food deposits on the first drain, but overall, a great machine.

The sanitize button gets the water so hot, there is no need to use heated dry.

Maytag Taller-Tub Dishwasher:

I've got that Dishwasher and have had mine since they first were available, with the 2 and 3 Rack design. I had a Recall on the Wiring Harness, approx 1-year into owning mine, due to a possible Fire Hazard. So far I've not had any other problems with mine. It also holds and Washes quite well, everything that I put in it. Mine is the White-On-White "TOL" 2-Rack Model, equivalant to the "TOL" 3-Rack Model.

Good Luck with your new Kenmore Dishwasher, they are also very good Dishwashers. I had a couple of the Top Roto-Rack Models way back when and I sure wish that I had them now still, besides my Belt-Drive Maytag Dishwasher, with the reversed Rack loading.

Back in the early 90's we had a MOL Maytag Jetclean dishwasher. It was pretty quiet, but it could clean anything you put in there! It was fantastic. And built like a tank. I am positive that thing is still in that house running like a champ.
We found a Maytag model that was a JetClean model, not a JetClean II or III, but just a JetClean. We are hoping that this model is a carry over from the model we bought back in the 90's.

Here's an action packed Triton XL load from last night. It was filthy, ran on 'Pots & Pans' with Extra Hot Wash and one action pack of Cascade with Dawn. It ran for about 2 hours, and thismorning, everything's as clean as can be.

Is that tub plastic or enamel?

....and why isn't it stainless steel or is that a TOL thing?

There is only one dishwasher on our market here (to the best of my knowledge) that is at all like that. Bosch has a BOL model that has an internal plastic base but the sides and top are stainless steel...

Electrolux

I have the new Electrolux Wave Touch Dishwasher. The line that Kelly Ripa advertisex on TV. Been using for a month now. Does a great job, quiet, and is not stingly on water use. You can barely hear the machine running, other than may a slight swish of the water, but only when standing right next to the machine. The racks are strudy and high quality, with baskets for utensils etc.

Hi John, I believe all three wash arms all operate at once. I opene the door quickly, and can see that both the bottom and middle spray arm were moving. The machine does a great job in cleaning and is super quiet. It also does not skimp on water as some of the other European models do. It also has a sensor, so if the load is really dirty, it drains and refills, and may even do a third rinse. I think on some cycles like Auto Wash, Heavy, it can use over 9 gals. of water.

What I really like about the machine over other Ruropean models, is that it has fans for drying. It does not use heat,(just like the other European models), but the fan which is located on the top back of the dishwasher, pulls air in and discharges it out through the bottom under the door. The fans along with the residual heat and of course Jet Dry produce a pretty dry load. At times, plastics come out a little wet, but this also happens with the heated dry machines also. Now if it is run at night, the plastics are dry by the morning. So far we are happy with the machine. the loading, capacity etc.

I am waiting for my tile backsplash to be done. Then I will post pictures of the new kitchen. BTW: We also have the Electrolux counter depth refrigerator, over the range microwave, electric stove w/convection oven.
