Very interesting mechanism. Reversing motor design with spin-drain. This appears to be GSW's very own design!

Pump is driven only during spin via this special clutch and smaller belt.

Stupid question...when did bilingual labeling become required? This does seem to be a weird one-off design.

I think the bilingual control panels came in the 1980's, then GE's counter to that was to use symbols which ended up being more confusing IMHO. Rich, my trained eye tells me it spins at 550 rpm. Approx, LOL
That machine sure means business when it's washing!
