That recall doesn't include 2014.
The guy in the first video apparently is changing the vacuum hoses, not the valve/solenoid.
I had the CEL trigger on Wed 6/26 ... ahead of planning a road-trip for 7/3 of 26+ hrs drive-time. The local dealer is 3-weeks out on service appts, they wouldn't even check the code to confirm if it was anything serious or not ... I had AutoZone check it. P0456 -- evaporative emission system leak detected (very small leak). Recommendation to change the canister purge valve solenoid, of which failure can allow the engine to draw raw fuel, too-rich of a mixture, black smoke from the engine exhaust, and increased fuel consumption.
Gasoline odor is a possible symptom ... which I did notice an odor a few days prior when playing with the audio system to check how it handles a USB thumb drive with subfolders ... while parked in my garage with the
engine not running best as I can recall. Or maybe it did run for a bit at some point ... the car is a hybrid so the engine does not run immediately when the car is started unless the HV battery charge is very low.
Research found that a mis-seal of the flapper on the capless gas tank could also be a cause, so I did some finagling with that.
The CEL turned off after 5 or 6 days. I did take it on the road-trip ... total of 1,729 miles. The CEL did not and has not turned on again. MPG for the trip was normal considering that the traveling buddy who drove 2/3 of the distance drives very aggressively compared to me.
I have a service appt for 7/16. The canister purge valve is $19.99 from AutoZone (Duralast brand) IF they're showing the correct part. I found another video of a fellow changing his valve on a 2014. His valve is physically not the same as what's referenced on the AutoZone report -- Duralast P/N PV716.
I found it now ... on front of the engine at the right side. I took the air intake flume off, access is tighter than it looks, the radiator fan is an obstruction.
