Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hi all.

Have yet to go and check when Carlton stopped selling branded machines - will have to consult the trsuty Which guides.

Strange how initially Currys only commissioned washing machines and then appeared to have an about turn and only commisssioned tumble dryers.

Yep - the many version of Carlton dryer all appear to have originated from the Philips catalogue - the ones I have seen anyway.

The photo records show models 3000, 3100 and 3101 - all compact dryers based on the Philips D153 - and model 4501 in both black facia and light grey facia guises, based on the 650 and 670 dryers from Philips.

Carlton Washer Dryer

Paul,

I have a couple of pics, of the Carlton Washer Dryer, not sure which model this is, but proof at least.

The "All Metal Door", based off the Logics/EcoLogics, to me, is very intriguing.

These couple of pics, were featured in the Haynes Washer Dryer & Tumble Dryer Manual, the red hardback cover copy.

Powder compartment in the door?

The lint screen is located under the porthole, as shown.

Chris74,

The grate beneath the drum aperture, in the pic, is the vent that the air filtered through, then into the hole under the porthole of the door, there are heaters concealed in the door, the air flows over the heaters, then the heated air flows out the recess in the middle of the door porthole & into the drum/load.

Belows is a pic of a similar door to the Carlton machine above, from my Hoover Logic Premier Washer Dryer.

Carlton Washer Dryer

Chris74,

The Carlton Washer Dryer had a detergent dispenser on the left of the controls fascia, no dispenser house in the porthole of the door, unlike the Indesit Moon Sixl146, that grate below the door, might catch unnecessary waste, but like most Washer Dryers, the door seal was the fluff filter, unlike dryers, like my Ecologic D6722, which had a rear drum filter, Washer Dryers tend to feature ROF cycles (Rinse Out Fluff), as they generally flush the fluff down the drain, some Washer Dryers that have filters, like my Zanussi JetSystem, do catch some of the waste fluff, as when they fill with water, it fills the filter with water, as it fills the drum with water.
