CGE LVE 550 - SAVE IT!!!

Hi all!

I don't exaclty know the age of this on sale machine, but I suppose it's before the 1986 of course...so I posted it here!

Even though you all know I love TL when I saw this it was so tender not to say to all you whether someone coudl save it!

This wonderfufl chromated windowed lid incredible remind me my 1968 FL Grandma's Sangiorgio...and why coulnd't it remind some old Hotpoint either?!

The machine is beeing sold in Bologna (north-center of Italy)...
Gabri, aren't you the nearest of us?! But I think any Eurofriend could catch it...

A Bendix by another name ...

Models very like this were sold under the Bendix label in Australia. They were made in Italy and this one would be somewhere between 1978 and 1982. My mother is still using hers today.

Yup I just could go and get it but I wouldn't know where to put it!!
And it's not even a brand I know! I want an old indesit like my mom used to have in 1979
Plus 100 euro?! I can get to the mall and get a new rebadged indesit/merloni machine for that (don't bash me... I know it isn't the same at all)

That is a real classic Italian washer. And of good quality too. You need to save this one!

Like in Australia, these machines were branded Bendix and replaced the big square door Bendix's that ran through most of the 1970's.

I thinks these were sold in the UK from the very early 1980's - possibly 1982 time.

Wow!

Hi Folks,
Wow a Bendix Autowasher Deluxe Electronic 7133 as it was known in the UK. A very quiet and reliable machine, 500-800RPM spin speeds powered by a huge electronically controlled Induction Motor. This machine had long cycle times and like all Philco-Bendix washers it delivered outstanding wash performance.

And they were quiet ...

... according to the advertising ... and my experience. They had a fairly slow wind-up to spin speed which evenly distributed the clothes and gave almost perfect balance every time.

Bendix Quiet Reliability

Hi aussie-plugs,
The machine on the CD is a 7148.
Yes they featured an electronically controlled Induction Motor, the timer switched from tumble to spin windings and the electronic module controlled the acceleration slowly and steadily up to 500RPM. They were incredibly quiet, smooth and stable machines even the 7168 1000RPM model. I loved these machines, their performance, quietness and engineering were second to none in their day.

Valerie Singleton!!!

Now there's a name you don't hear of nowadays!!!!! I was a toddler when she was on Blue Peter lol!!! I would have killed for one of those Bendix machines when I was a teenager. especially the one with the silver fascia. I think they were a few years before the model shown.
My Aunt had a Bendix Washer/dryer.... A monster of a machine from the 60's or even 50's! Must have been one of the first. Big blue and silver fascia, silver dials, on board heater, top loading dispenser and lint trap, tumbled clockwise only with a big black spotted drum. Foralysious.... do you have any pictures?

Here in Canada...

they had many different names: White Westinghouse, Kelvinator, and Viking (Eaton's dept. store). I was told they were made by Philco Italia. I had the Viking model with a matching dryer that had the glass porthole.

I enjoyed that set for 15 years! Very well built and super easy to repair.
