Chambers Stove - Huge!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The Thermodome, whick was lowered over a cook pot sitting on the burner, was the early version of the insulated deep well that Chambers dubbed the Thermowell on later models. The domes and the wells were basically small ovens: they were insulated just like the big ovens and you could "cook with the gas off" like the big ovens. They were used most often for soups, sides, oatmeal, and some baking.

Model 39972

What a beautiful beast!  1,500 pound shipping weight!!!

I wonder if there are survivors of this model out there?  It was obviously built to last!!!

The traditional

modern kitchen Mikael3 posted with the old Chambers is fabulous! Usually, you see a huge stainless steel Wolf, Thermador, or a Viking in that calibre of kitchen.
If I were going with a modern stove, I'd choose an AGA or comparable in a color.
