Chambers range
I've had an early 50's Chambers range in the kitchen about 10 years, works perfectly. Ebay has tons of parts, the grill/griddle is useful, and I have all the parts for the deepwell but don't use it often. The oven is small, so I kept my old 60's electric range and re-installed it in the basement, but I truly only need the extra oven when it's my turn to host Thanksgiving.
Careful--the range weighs over 450 pounds.

this is for sale in my area...
Apartment-size Chambers range...at least that's what the ad says...that plate on the back has the model name..."Martha Washington"...cute but not $500 (asking price) cute.

I asked the seller to double check the brand...Gray & Dudley...looks like more Dudley to me.
Old Chambers Gas Ranges
Are very cool in the same way a 50 year old Jeep is. I could see having one as an extra [ hopefully outside the house ] range, but if I had to cook on and clean that range every night I would give up cooking, LOl.

Chambers aren't that bad to cook on and keep clean. My O&M, however can be a real pain to keep clean.
Cooking and cleaning on gas range tops
I should have said that all gas ranges are hard to control the heat on and all are a pain in the a.. the clean, the only gas burners that are easy to cook on are the burner with a brain automatic burners where you can actually set the flame size and then the actual desired cooking temperature. But it still leaves you with slow heating of large quantities of food and a hot room full of fumes and a mess to clean.
