Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I still remember the "clang" you'd hear when these huge pills would hit the bottom of the Filter-Flo tub.

And, best of all, no ingredients list in sight anywhere on the box so it's safe to assume it's full of phosphates and lots of other things that the EPA wouldn't allow. Don't get me wrong, I have tremendous respect for the EPA and all the good they've done for the world, just leave my detergent alone especially when I live in an area that doesn't have ponds and lakes and streams that can be messed up by the phosphates.

Interesting to note that back then P&G was honest about the product's performance in cold water.

Loved it. We used them with Ac
tion Bleach tablits,Lestare oxygen packets and Fonal Touch with bluing for extra whiteness. We tried Vim too but too much suds in our Lady Kenmore combo.

I've gone through three boxes now. The best thing about it is that it is low sudsing.

Except for some tablets that had returned to a powdery state before being opened, the pucks would not fully dissolve except in hot water. Cleaning power unaided was marginal at best. Actually, "laughably bad" is a better description, but perhaps it is unfair to expect any 40 year old product to work as new. I've had good results with some other old detergents, though.

You do get the phosphates, however, and you can add all the enzyme/bleach boosters you like and get good results.

In a one cycle Maytag washer bang with a slight ringing at the end lol.
