And I scoffed at the $7,000 price tag on the new KitchenAid stainless steel FL machines... Miele's new professional/commercial line ups the ante by a wide margin: Prices START at $20,000. Yes, that's TWENTY-FREAKING-THOUSAND-DOLLARS. To see this apparantly diamond-encrusted pair, follow the pretty blue link and click on the laundry/washer button.

But you must consider the fact that that Miele set is a commercial set, not really for residential use. Although, the people who DO buy them for residential use...well... how many ways can you say the word crazy, wthout actually saying it?

Interesting machine, but $20,000?? Even Milnors start at $5000!

And speaking of custom building and modification, stay tuned...

Commercial soft mount machines (those with a suspension and high G force spinning) are typically 3-5 times more expensive than hard mounts (those without a suspension and low G spinning). I quickly gave up on the dream of having a super efficient laundromat when I learned that an 18# commercial soft mount is $6,500 compared to the 18# hard mount at $1,800.
