my new and much more simpler coffee maker

Well, usually I fill the water up to 5 cups, but decided to make 8 cups just to see the water remaining at that 5 while the wanted 8 was at an espresso-sized quantity so I decided it was time to ditch my old machine…

And figured I could do without a timer and automatic brewing as well as a clock I always needed to set and reset though that was convenient to view…

The buttons could sometimes be accidentally stated or one time wouldn’t push in to turn on or the plug had to be pulled to turn off…

So I got a cheap toastmaster unit usually seen in motels with a lighted and sturdy toggle on and off switch on the side as well as the water spout attached to the lid and saved my reusable filter from the old appliance…

Thank you and might I say I’m getting better coffee than my stovetop coffee making and I can even drink all of it without having to reheat molten leaden coffee later…

This coffee maker lets me tailor it he amount I can drink not make me fill the whole vessel and none of that grit at the bottom either…

I can even still use the big metal pot for additional heating it up as well…

Our Cuisinart 12 cup combo. Keurig lasted us almost 8 years. The Keurig part died, so we just got a new one. Same 3 year warranty.

It's not real coffee if there's no grit!

Sometimes, there is grit in our coffee. Turkish or a French press sure is tasty, but a paper filter removes free radicals.

Any heat generating appliance should be UNPLUGED when not in use. Found that out when my old Proctor Silex coffeemaker was recalled due to chances of fire. My next door neighbor is a retired fire chief and he said you would not believe the amount of home fires any heat generating device can cause, including hair dryers, curling irons and toasters. Better to unplug and be safe.

Unplugging is safer, but then the clock/auto brew wouldn't work. We use it every day except Saturdays. The old Cuisnart had a main power switch. that didn't clear the clock.
