Very cool. Now, what I wanna know is when are the incredible basements that are in Omaha, Mineeapolis, and Beltsville, MD going to be on the show gonna have their own segments on that show?

There are a few basements to be shown in omaha! Greg's of course.

But also the odowds vacuum stores would be cool!

That is really amazing. I too remember seeing that street at the Museum of Science and Industry as a child and always loved it. It is still there today.

Just remembered.

The Durham western heritage museum here in town, built out of the old UP station, has a lot of these store fronts.

Really a fantastic thing to see. They have the general store filled with hundreds of little boxes and tins and cans and jars of old products sold in the 20s and such. All the old medicines with cocaine and penicillin and stuff in it!

There is an antique store like front with displays from an actual antique store in it.
There is a very early perhaps 1840s Square grand piano. All for sale too. Really neat.

I was last on "Main Street" at the Museum in Chicago about 2006 or so and the street was still there. It's actually a part of the museum's automotive section.
One thing that got me about "main street" is how dim the lighting was. But then again early electric bulbs weren't as bright as modern ones are either.
BTW, in case anyone hasn't been there in the last 12 years or so they did a big revamp on the place and raised the admittance fee quite high. So the place is much quieter than it used to be.
They bought the U505 U Boat and the Zephyr train indoors too.

At the House on the rock in spring green , Wi you can see a very smilar display called the Streets of yesterday. Definatly worth a go. Incidentally Mr ALex Jordan creator of the house on THe rock collected everything imagineable Except vintage appliances....something for one to think about if you have one of these massive collections and no intrested family to leave them too.

THat house on the rock sure is something else.

I have spent hours gander-ing at the wondrous photo tours of it online. It is my dream to visit there!

I especially love the over extravagant musical instruments including the massive fake organ consoles.
