circa '63 or so Whirlpool top load washer

Between '63 and '64, I'd sometimes spend the weekends with my Aunt and Uncle, when my Aunt did laundry in her top load Whirlpool I remember lifting the lid and watch the machine agitate the load of clothes, I found it fascinating and mesmerizing, I was 8 years old.

I distinctly remember there being a removeable triangular plastic lint filter located on the right lower edge of the top panel below the lid, it was removed for cleaning.

Does anyone have pictures of this lint filtration system in action? It was completely different from our GE Filter-Flo of which I remember the little balls of lint dance around in the filter, equally mesmerizing...

I remember my parents had a WP washer like that in the early 70's. It was a heavy chrome thing with bristles on it the water flowed through and it had a sight glass on it on the middle so you could see the flow. It just lifted right out to clean then you pushed it back in.

As I remember it was a plastic, crescent shaped device with, presumably nylon "combs" of which wash/water rinse water flowed through to trap lint.
It wasn't located in the agitator, rather the top of the machine, in the lower right corner.
To be honest, it did not look to be very effective, the "combs" were perhaps one inch tall or so.
My Aunt's Whirlpool must had been a lesser model, I don't remember any chrome adornments on the device.
A Chevrolet as opposed to a Cadillac, if you will...lol

That filter is what you would call the magic mix filter - it started with the 1960 models.
