Wilkins Service did build Maytags under licence
Probably a bit late to add to this but only just joined. I concur with mielerod69 that WS did in fact build Maytags under license in the 1970's here in Oz. I spoke to a guy in Sydney who used to make a living re-building and servicing Wilkins Service machines. They were called the "International Series" 400 and later 500: where they introduced the stainless steel bowl: prior to this they had a black porcelain bowl. There are still some about but they are getting rare. The company disappeared in the late 70's early 80's. I have some pics which i will have to upload showing the innards of the machines.
