Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Creda Autoclean

Now for a bit of British domestic appliance history.

I believe this is the ONLY UK manufactured cooker ever to have a self cleaning oven, not the type with self clean liners but one where the oven heats to high temperature to burn off the dirt.

Mid to late 1960s

Chris

Thank you for posting this. I am not overly familiar with machines of this era but I will keep a very close eye on this one as it is close to where I now live and I drive past there every Friday on my weekly commute to and from London

Please do send details of the cooker and I will gladly confirm if it is of interest.

Thanks

Thankfully I think I got the better of the two! It's settling in nicely after 42 years in hibernation and made its first cake yesterday.

So what was it? Victoria Sandwich? Fatless Sponge? Fruit Cake? Madeira?

Where are the pictures? Or have you scoffed the lot already LOLOLOL

Glad its working out for you, I will admit I was a bit tempted to go for it myself (it would have been exactly the right timeframe for when my house was built) but as you said you were keen I decided to let common sense win and let you go for it instead. It was a great price you got it for, and very well worth it I think

It was Marmalade Gingerbread from the Belling recipe book, just scoffing a piece as I write :-). Didn't think to take any pics of the product but here's a few of the cooker. It's a shame that I couldn't leave the labels on, but I have left the chalk mark under the hob from the inspection team.
Thanks for holding off on this one, I'm so glad that I've got it, and it's gone to a good home.

Thanks for posting the great pictures, seems to me you will be needing to change those 1980s cabinets for something more in keeping both with the cooker and the other bits and pieces we can see there LOLOLOL

Marmalade Gingerbread sounds interesting - I was just saying to Mike last weekend that I have not made ginger bread for YEARS - just whilst we were eating some McVities ginger cake. Maybe you could post the recipe when you have a moment.
