Hello,
I just bought a used GE front loader, and it is in really great condition, except for the rust in the bottom part of the gasket. Should I try lemon juice and baking soda to remove it or use a product like CLR? If I use CLR, I wasn't sure if I should run a wash cycle with it or just spot apply it to this part of the gasket. I don't want to do anything to harm my washer. Please share your thoughts.
Thank you!

I JUST used CLR for the same issue. I wiped some on and let it sit for a minute then wiped. Took a little rubbing but it all came out. Then I ran a "rinse & spin cycle.

Thank you! I just found a rusted out pin in the washer that was probably causing some of this! I hope I have as good of luck with the CLR!

Flashlight?

Can you use a flashlight to examine the exterior tub to see if there is any rust staining present?

Malcolm
