Has anyone ever seen one of these?  What is the purpose?

I came across it looking for replacement handles for some old CA pots.  I have a 1 qt. that is perfect for my needs, but no handle, no lid either but that is not an issue.  The set I have is from the 50's, all had glass lids, I think all are broken, most are handle-less.   My favorite Visions 1qt has a crack that is expanding so I can't use it.  Have some others but they all have pouring spouts which I don't like.   Just want a heavy 1 qt. basic pot.

Purpose?

To look pretty.

No, seriously--- rangetop space efficiency. To cook two dishes at the same time on the same burner/element.

Good idea in some situations.

I really like Guardian Ware and its earlier incarnation Silver Seal cookware. It's made of thick aluminum with a hammered surface texture. Properly polished up the stuff is really attractive and looks great on the stove and on the table. They both offer a trio of pots designed to share a single burner, similar to what you found.

How well would those stay in the burner? Seems to me that, in certain cases, they would be really unsteady.

Davey......

it is not called Club Aluminum for no reason. Club is (or was), substantial stuff. I would say, having had some over the years, that Club is about the same weight as anodized Calphalon, plus or minus a touch.

I have a small frying pan that is the old style Club Aluminum; it belonged to the lady that was our sitter when my sister and I were kids. It has no lid.

My neighbor down the street has the Guardian Service 3 triangular pots, with lids. I have some Guardian ware, but not that.

This is some of the Silver Seal cookware I have. My grandmother had the same roaster for her entire married life. She got it and a few other pieces as a wedding present in 1934. It's made of heavy cast aluminum and is really very sturdy. But none of these belonged to her. I tracked them down on eBay years ago. One thing I found interesting about these is the variation in spouts on the water pitcher, especially since Silver Seal cookware was only produced for a few years before being replaced by Guardian Ware. I have my grandmothers Silver Seal trio of pots, but they're out in the garage in a box somewhere. One day I'll have to bring them in and give them a good clean and polish treatment.

I have some 70's (I assume, graduated avocado) Club pots I got from my old neighbor - they are pretty hefty and substantial. I was thinking more along the lines of how would the dual pots sit on some burners (sorry I wasn't clearer about that) which might have weird grates.
