I have been enjoying this show. The host tries to duplicate some of the best restaurant recipes in the country. Anyone else seen it?

Sounds great

Haven't seen it but I want to now. I love cookbooks about restaurants.
Are the recipes current? Or do they try recreating recipes from older yet classic restaurants? Ex: Recipes from Sardi's or the Pump Room, The Drake etc?

Top Secret Recipes - The TV Program

I saw this week's episode also. Todd Wilbur has written a series of Top Secret cookbooks covering subjects from restaurant foods to beverages, and he does indeed put a great deal of work and research into each recipe.

Overall I like the show, and plan to keep watching. However, at times there is a little too much in the way of slapstick that hinges on being annoying, to me at least. This can be forgiven, as Todd actually demonstrates the hits and misses in figuring out which ingredients, processes, and equipment to use.

Supposedly, his version of KFC's original recipe is pretty close. I plan to try it later when it cools off more, but I think I'll try to modify it such that I don't have to use MSG.

I've made a couple of Top Secret Recipes (McDonald's 'Special Sauce' for burgers) and the Cinnabon clones.  Didn't know it was a TV show; thanks for the heads-up.  I never watch CMT, so I blocked it on my TiVo.  Will have to add it back and look for the show.
