Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

AI

What's with the STUPID AI in this laundry set? I don't need any of this. Gee some people are not gonna learn. It's like we've turned into a society of stupid dolts. God, help us. I am the one doing my laundry, and I don't need the washer to tell me what cottons feel like. That's what touch is for! This society seems to be becoming more and more stupid EVERY SINGLE YEAR! It just blows me away. SHEESH!

‘put lipstick on the pig’

I could have not said it better or more accurately!

Pity the unsuspecting and uninformed consumer to fall for such con artist tactics, however there is no excuse to fall prey, given the amount of information available on the internet.

I, and no doubt all the members of this forum know better, I absolutely refuse to be duped by their $1K words, "Bespoke" being one of them.

bespoke laundry

I mean, what's so bespoke about laundry? I think the people who hate doing laundry just wants to shove everything into the machine without a second thought and put it on AI then they'll complain about why their whites look dingy, dresses are torn, and why the washer has mold in it. Then they'll sue the manufacturer. This is absolutely stupid. You can't fix stupid.
Why do I need a huge tub? And you know the washer won't last and neither will the dryer. Can anybody see what's wrong here? Oh, and we know they'll use cheap detergent and a tiny amount with cold water on the express cycle even if they're severely stained. What am I missing?

Jerome, bespoke means customized or made-to-order, traditionally referring to clothing tailor-made to order for a specific customer.  Samsung's Bespoke line of appliances is primarily kitchen items, such as refrigerators that can be customized with different door panels.

What you're missing is that it's a sales marketing angle, a line of aesthetically sleek-looking appliances, with a washer and dryer included in the line to cover all the kinds of appliances that a customer would buy.

How is it different from, for example, Sears' Lady Kenmore marketing?  Or GE Americana?

Your rant above can be applied to users of all brands of laundry appliances, and AI has no relation to it.  Why are you claiming it's unique to Samsung Bespoke?[this post was last edited: 6/26/2024-12:57]

samsung and others

To me, it seems that Samsung and others have jumped on the AI bandwagon to appeal to the masses who are too stupid and dumb to know how to do laundry properly. You would think that if there's something "bespoke" about these washers and dryers, they'd stand out from the rest in terms of durability and reliability. And yet people just want to cram everything into the machine causing their dirty clothes to become more dirtier when they mix everything in a single load even when they're downright dirty.
How hard is it to sort laundry and do things right even if it took hours or days? I'd rather take my time and do it right the first time. Geez! It just takes away freedom for people like us to choose how we want to do laundry. AI isn't unique to Samsung. LG has gotten on the bandwagon too. No thank you! Just wash and dry my damn clothes! I decide what settings to use and I determine how I wash them. It's like saying, you're stupid so I'll figure out your cottons which is what the machine says. This isn't rocket science! AI... Give me a break! Too many of the masses want flashy designs instead of clean laundry. Me personally, I don't care if the washer and dryer is ugly or "dull looking". I want it to wash and dry right with a durable, extra heavy design I.E. Speed Queen Classic. Too many fall for it hook, line, and sinker. Oh well, we tried to tell them for years. They just don't care!

samsung so-called bespoke

I wouldn't buy one, not even for my worst enemy. But, just hearing about these machines appealing to the masses just kills me especially about how they treat them. If I live in the past by buying and using Speed Queen Classic, so be it. There's nothing cool about these Samsung machines. Stay with electronics. Samsung and LG, I'm talking to you!

“Talk to them and stop ranting how everyone is STUPID but you to AW. We are sick of hearing it over and over”

Couldn’t have said it any better @ wayupnorth. I think we need to be a little more reserved in terms of how much we post here on the site, if there’s a thread that all catches our interest in terms of finding something NOS of course, but if it’s mundane threads, no sense in making a bunch of posts. The more you post, the higher probability you will get into arguments or push people away.

I agree with this Sean. I for one am a little put off to get on here and find a thread from 15 years ago at the top of the page. I do look at old threads occasionally, because I find the discussions fascinating or perhaps they might hold information I need, but I don't revive them. I don't know, it just feels like poor form to me. If I really need to ask a question about something in an old thread, I'll just make a new one of my own. It's more likely to catch people's attention that way. It also won't deter people from interacting with me in my experience.

On occasion, I’ll revive a thread in the archives but if there’s no interest, won’t continue to post in said thread to catch attention. If no one’s interested, will just let it disappear into to abyss.

On the other hand, it’s interesting to see how much wisdom I’ve gained since this thread was originally created in August of 2023.

Funny how I “lack maturity” according to a reply to this thread last year, while said person is acting like a combative 12 year old, guess that’s what happens when the fountain of youth is on E.

Things really do change in 10 months time these days.
