I picked up a second Hoover can opener awhile back and it's front panel is a good match to the convertible..
dont' look at the dirty bumper on the vac pls.. LOL

BTW these are awful can openers, must have been designed by a lefty, and you have to crank that lever about 300 degrees before you can insert the can. But they look nice. Made by Rival I believe, who also made the Sears Hostess Centers.

You got a problem with lefties? We tend to be brilliant! (wink)

Anyhoo. If the can is in your right (stronger) hand that would leave the left hand with which to operate the lever.

We are forced to use our weaker hand all the time. I just KNOW it can be done!

Qu'est ce que je peux faire avec toi?
Bonjour et je t'aime, mon ami, avec toute ma couer.

and yes I DO excpect and e-card from ERVERYONE on August 13th Left-hander's day. (WINK)

The British are coming! They've got a store for us too.

It was always my fantasy to have a left-handed equipped kitchen and left-handed workshop and have my parents TRY to work.

Portable electric rotary saws are particularly dangerous in that you can't see what you are cutting, and the natural motion of the left hand will depress that little red "rod" that locks the finger switch in/on.

What AMAZES me is that righties don't understansd that clockwise is *tighten* and couter-clockwise is *loosen*... which is MADE FOR YOU and follows the natural motion of the right hand.

KNOBS on gas stoves are clockwise for "OFF" such that when y'all are in a near coma state you can't hurt yourselves by turning ON the gas jets.

Te he he he. Time to go before I offend any further......

Special Feature

Pete, you didn't even display the hidden chrome stand that folds out of the bottom of the can opener?

I may have mentioned this...

That was the can opener I grew up with as a kid, retired or wore out when I was about 11. And yes, Dad did use that knife sharpener. I can still hear that noise it made when sharpening!

I never knew about the legs until it broke and Dad had it on the back trying to fix it. It was like, what are those?!

Interestingly, ours absolutely DID NOT say Hoover on it. The plate on the front was a different, solid color.

Have to try to find one!!!

Porter-Cable tool Co. makes circular saws for left hand people-places like lowes or Home Depot can order them.Other hardware and tool companies can get them.Porter Cable tools are expensive-but can last you a lifetime.

Petek: Love the colors and the matching of them between the can opener and the vacuum-its sort of strange though-usually the vacuum is hiding in the closet-but the can opener sits on the counter for all to see. They look well together.

Come to think of it I may have a left hander saw in amongst my tool collection. Its a Porter Cable."ReTool" is sure handy for tool collectors!!I can use either. Most table saws can be made to accomidate left hand users-you can put the rip fence or miter guage on either side of the table. That allows you to use either the left or right side of the blade.however radial arm saws can be awkward-more so than portable saws-and more dangerous since they were designed for righties only.also-any new portable circular saw DOES NOT have the "lock on" switch since that would violate current OSHA safety regs.Lock on switches are DANGEROUS for circular saws-wether it be right or left hand useage. The last thing one needs is a "runaway" saw with a stuck open guard!!excellent leg cutter.
