I picked up a coppertone Coldspot side by side last weekend. It had "designed by Sundberg Ferar" on the door handle. Pretty fancy looking 'fridge.
I see S/F was an industrial design company. Does that make this old Coldspot worth million$$$? 8^)

I'd like to see a picture, if you have one.

My favorite jukebox, the Seeburg LPC-1, won an industrial design award for Sundberg-Ferar in 1963.

Our 1966 Coldspot "twindoor cupboard" (code for today's french door) bottom freezer in coppertone was designed by "Sundberg-Farer. We sent for a placard that mounted above the door handles that said it was designed for us!! LOL!! Great refrigerator....rotary compressor was almost silent, though it was an energy hog. Compressor finally seized in 2000. The only repair was the evaporator fan motor and a cold control in 33 years!! Wish we still had it.

Sundberg-Ferar

also designed a Whirlpool laundry pair around 1955-56, the Imperials for that year. They were eyecatching without being garish.

I wish, oh how I wish modern appliances......
(Modern appliances are either bland or hideous).

I've got one too!

Mine is from the late '60s I think. It's white with gold-tone fluted handles, and is the french door design with a bottom freezer. I keep it in the garage because it's a little tall to fit where my beloved turquoise '67 Frigidaire does. Also, to be honest I love that splash of turquoise in the kitchen. The Coldspot keeps food perfectly well even when it is really hot outside. I had to replace the upper door seals 15 or so years ago when my grandmother had it. They have a special magnetic flapper to seal between the doors, and were available from Sears, albeit a bit pricey at over $100.

Sounds exactly like what we had. I think they were "French Provincial" style handles with gold trim around both doors and freezer door. It also had an icemaker in the freezer with swing out baskets. Sharpest lookin' refrig ever!!!!!!
