I saw this at Thriftown in San Francisco and thought some of you may find it interesting. It is a top of stove drip coffee maker. The bottom is metal, and the heat from the gas burner boils the water in a reservoir that then pumps it up to travel down into the grounds.

I had never seen one before.

We have one of these and it's great. We use it when going camping at Waipio (YPO) Valley. It takes a bit longer but makes great coffee.

Wow I didn't even know those existed.  That sure beats boiling water, balancing a large Melitta cone on top of a thermos and hoping for the best.

George, if you do any camping, I hope you bought it if it was reasonably priced.

Where is Thriftown?  Is that the big "17 Reasons Why" one on Mission?

Coleman Coffee Maker

First time I've seen one of them. Looks like a great idea. A web search shows that Coleman sells them for about $50. Coleman also makes a propane (disposable cylinder) powered coffee maker. Either would be good for power failure but I think I will still use one of my vacuum pots on the gas cook top. The link to Coleman is included.
