Hi guys, hope you dont mind new guy crashing in on the party. Have been reading your site for ages with fasination, now finally got round to joining.

Have got collection of my own (more on that later), and am in the appliance industry by trade so get few gems which seem a shame to get scrap, so i thought i'd put 'em on this site and see if there was any interest.

Have got this nice Zanussi Superluxe S118T which is in great shape. Have just done 2 washes in it and it's sound, no bearing noise or leaks. I'm not keen on these units (prefer old Hoovers) so wondered if any of you guys interested?

Also, if any one after bits (or complete) for old washers, dryers, dishwashers, give me a shout and i'll keep an eye out for any scrap machines that come in. No promises, but ya never know what'll turn up!

Hoovermad

Hello Hoovermad, glad to hear there is another old Hoover fan who has come forward.
I too am an avid fan of old Hoover washers, i am fairly experienced with old Hoover electrons and logics as i used to service them in the 80s.
I work at a recycling centre and a few gems have come my way, one of those Zanussi machines came in a long time ago and i remember how well built and heavy it was to move around, to date i own the following: A3110, A3190, A3308 and a new arrival an A3350 a D68?? tumble dryer and a 3334 twin tub I love them all and keep them running and serviced

There are as you will have seen plenty of other fans of old washers and they a great bunch of guys

I hope you enjoy being part of this great website.

Gary

Ps bits...........well i am looking for a spin selector (brown ovel shaped) button for my A3110

Hi Hoovermad hope your doing ok. I love the zanussi, two of my Mums close friends had them, one lasted up to the 90's when it was replaced with a zanussi nexus which is still going strong. I would be really interested in it. Where abouts are you.

Hi Bjorn.

Welcome to the club.
It is truly a great place to reminice and talk washers, dryers and dishwashers and I have learnt loads from chin wagging with people here.

Have a great time.

Like many people here, can i add my name to the no doubt long list of people who would love to take on your Zanussi. Would be dependent on your location though - spill the beans where are you?
I am sure there will be a member within realistic distance of you willing and able to take it on.

It looks in great condition too!

Once again welcome and have fun.

Cheers
Paul

Hi guys,

Thanks for such a warm welcome. I live down on south coast, between Southampton and Bournmouth in a little town called Lymington.

Great to see pics of old Hoovers, they what i'm after if you come accross any spare ones lol!In fact, any logic, electron or earlier really! I remember when I was little mum had a Hoover Automatic E for years (sorry, don't know model no)great machine.

With regards to spin button, haven't got second hand one but it is still listed as a spare part with one of the companies I deal with (£6.86 + vat) if that any help.

Cheers
Bjorn

Hi Bjorn.

Your Zanussi is a bit far away from me I am afraid (unless you really cant shift it) - there should be no shortage of local members to take her on!

There was a beautiful A3470 on ebay last month - needed a new timer, but looked great and in you neck of the woods too.

Hey ho - will keep an eye out for convenient Electrons and Logics for you.

Happy hunting.
Paul

This your Hoover Automatic E, Bjorn?

my aunt had one of these at the same time as my mum owned the Hoover 3236H Automatic De Luxe.

Hi Bjorn

A big welcome from me too! It's always good to have new members. You are the same age as me so will probably remember the same machines. I love the early Zanussi machines, it looks like that one has the similar door trim to the Hotpoint Liberator.

Like Paul says there will be many people interested (perhaps me as well) if you have any vintage machines. I have a Hoover, Hotpoint, Zanussi and AEG so what next I wonder?

Rob

Hi guys!

That the beastie, would really like to get hold of machines from that era. Did you see the thread with the Hoover matchbox dryer? Would look great together wouldn't they? Ahh, dreamin!

You'll be pleased to know Paul that the A3470 that was on Ebay with timer fault is now mine (YAY!) Picking it up on Wednesday.Love the looks of urs 2, looks in great condition.

Going back to the spin selector, it was a black one that was listed, but have done part enquiry for brown one. Have to see what happens.

Tara for now

Bjorn

Hi Bjorn.

Great to hear that that electron is going to a good home.
Visually it looks in great nick and still has the advertsising strip stuck to the top!

really pleased - be sure to show it off to us all.

The matchbox dryer is great - I will try and get round to posting a vid of it. Although I might wait till I have fitted the new fan belt, to get the full effect.

Good luck with the new timer hunt for the A3470. Fingers crossed.

Cheers
Paul

Welcome to the group Bjorn! Good to have another Hoover fan on here, I've got all sorts of Hoover aplliances, but am holding on for a nice matchbox machine! Not that I have anywhere to put one hehehe!
