I had the exact same machine given to me when i was 19 in my 2nd flat and it was a great little workhorse. It was badged as Ariston, the only thing i dint like was having to pull the machine out to clean the little metal mesh filter at the back of the machine when it was drying. Other than that it was a fun machine. Weighed an absolute ton though.
The chrome bar at the bottom front of the machine is actually in two parts (you can kind of see that anyway) which swivel vertically to drop down wheels to make it (in theory at least) a bit more manevorable.

when these machines were being built the general public must have judged a machine by amount of chrome on a appliance.
This must be the most chromed machine ever!
