Hi Everyone.

I received an Email from a fellow washer fan on Youtube, and they informed me of this washing machine on Ebay.

All it needs is a new door glass bowl, and its a good as new:)

I hope someone will save it from the dump, as that's probably where the people will take it next.

Its a Hotpoint 9550 - Microtronic(?) Low Energy De Luxe.

Good luck if anyone does go for it:)

Ha ha ha Tom!

If only a machine was made for people with low energy.......wash, dry , fold and put away machine!

L.E. Hotpoint machines lowered the mainwash temperature by 10deg ( at least I think )thus saving ( a little ) in electricity. All these machines had a "super wash" button which raised the temp to the correct level. So, if you selected a 40 deg cotton wash, by default the machine would was at 30deg, pressing super wash would raise the temp back to 40 deg.

Previously Hotpoint machines had an Economy button which used the water at the incoming temp and did not engage the heater. The hotter washes ( above 50 deg ) only took in hot water for the wash fill, 50deg and below took in a mixture of hot and cold. This feature was handy for lightly soiled clothes.

Economy

That's why i love hot & cold fill Washers because of the No Heat Economy wash button. I use it all the time on the 40 Coloureds non fast programme.

Yes Paul it's a very useful option button & i do occasionally use it on the longer whites programme. I still think that it was wrong doing away with hot & cold fill machines. It should really be up to the customer if they want to buy a hot & cold or a cold fill only machine. My combi boiler is situated in the bathroom airing cupboard directly above my washer so they is very little cold water in the pipe work before the hot water starts entering the machine & i also find that hot water dissolves the powder far better & that the soap dispenser stays far cleaner & fresher for longer.

Econony Washing...

...As in lack of energy washing:

Can only be achieved by the Robinson family from lost in space. Clothes are cleaned, dried and packaged in plastic ready to be used again next time around.

Just thought I'd ad my two cents there :D
