Great first picture of the day! The excitement is building!

I test-drove that Model 29 last year (as well as took the picture above) and was VERY impressed. The new curved-helix brushroll did an outstanding job of clinging to the carpet and beating out even the most embedded dirt!

On a completely different subject, did the Model 29 have the same 2-position height adjustment mechanism as the early Convertibles?

not a *true* expert but....

the two position adjuster on the 29 was similar in concept to the 65 convertible. the lever is connected to a hook that *catches* the rear axle. but the wheels and the way the lever is mounted is quite different from the 29 to the 65 style.

For the Experts, Pt. II

did the original Hoover 29 bag have the white thread/stripe running vertical or not? thanks.

VCCC

As the new president of the VCCC I want to Personally Thank Robert and Fred for keeping this project moving. But it is also important to Thank everyone on this site for giving the VCCC the opportunity to share this site. It is my hope that the two clubs will grow and strenghten themselves with the power of knowledge and friendships that have been created.

Don't look at this as a parting of the ways but a bridge between two Great Clubs.

Hoover 29:

Austin,
David is correct, the two position adjuster was similar to the convertible, but not the same mechanism, and the cleaners sat differently on the carpet.

David,
You'll find BOTH plain and pinstripe bags, I am not sure which was first, but from Ads I have seen I suspect it was pinstripe.
There were also two cords used, either maroon or black, with the large clip on plug with HOOVER embossed...
