Well, the unthinkable happened.. Last week we moved my Frigidaire Compact 30 range I restored to the new digs now that the place is semi-finished and the new kitchen is coming together. I had diassembled, degreased and re-done the lettering on it 2 or 3 years ago in preparation for its new home. Then this past Saturday a scaffold H tipped and hit the range square on. Entirely my fault. It chipped the flawless Avocado top, blew a knob apart and put two creases in the stainless panel. I still twinge thinking about it all!!!

I've resigned to the fact that I probably won't find another avocado top as nice as this one, and I can glue the knob together without anyone the wiser, but I really need a replacement stainless control front, common to all these ranges. If anyone comes across a parts machine, please let me know or shoot me an email. This is the panel that houses the burner knobs and wraps over the front edge and says "Frigidaire | A Product of General Motors"

Thanks everyone- Cory

Cory,

That stinks. I am sorry to hear this!
Please post a pic. They're not the most common range, but you're chances are higher if those of us who aren't that familiar with this series (my interests stop well before the Avocado era) have a mental image to go with.

GM Frigidaire!

I used to know someone that had a complete GM Frigidaire home that had this same exact stove also the same color. Their house was built in 1967. They had the matching frig and dw in their kitchen. In a area off the garage was a matching rapiddry set. They were TOL and beautiful. The dryer had very little use. In 1980 they replaced the washer with a white 1/18 washer just before the the end of production and I remember them saying later on they were happy they replaced the washer when they did. They were die hard frigidaire people and thought it was a disgrace that WCI was prodoucing all those fakes.
