Glad to see owners of Speed Queen top-loaders and dryers are experiencing Excellent reliability. Gives me a bit of comfort. (2017 Series 9 pair)

Not surprised at Samsung below average. 

 

Do the CU questionnaires still ask for information only on appliances purchased within the last five years?  I filled one out a few years ago, but no major appliance in the house was younger than late '80s.

Yes; they still ask that question. I've rarely kept a washer more than five years, so always had something to fill out, LOL.

Interesting that Amana and Roper toploaders score higher than Estate toploaders? Aren't they basically the same? The same goes for some other appliances too.

Estate Brand

I'm not sure what's going on with this brand.  I think of it as a lower-end "builder brand."  Have there been any VMW washers branded as Estate?

 

Around here Roper is at Lowes, Amana at Home Depot.  Both identical machines it seems.  Crazy how many brands Whirlpool has these days and that they continue so many of them.

I used to read washer reports of CR a lot ~ 1980, and Norge along with 3-belt westys would always get the big black dot for reliability Norges were my fave at the time because they were loud and powerful
