I was just wondering if anybody ever converted a KitchenAid KDSS-21 over to a KDS-21? The KDSS-21 I have has a bad control board that I can't seem to source from anywhere. I replaced the 5 volt voltage regulator and the 4 silicon rectifier diodes that take the 12vac and converts it to 12dc. Also, the two 2200 microfarad capacitors were out of tolerance, replaced those, all to no avail. The transformer is the only thing I can think of beside the main 40 pin programmable chip that could be bad. I have 120vac going in the primary side, but only 11.4 coming out of the secondary, which may not be enough power to operate the ICs properly.
Does anyone have a control board or a donor machine with the KDS-21 control panel? This machine is in otherwise perfect shape. No rust, on tub or racks. Door seal is still pristine white, and the fine mesh filter on top of the pump is not torn. I just can't stand to see a great machine like this go. If anyone has any info or parts, please let me know. You guys are a great wealth of information. Never knew other people collect appliances like myself.
Thanks and have a great day!
