Jeff, Skip, everybody

When there is something on Ebay, i usually have a limit on what i will bid. There is always going to be someone with a higher limit and maybe not. Point is, if i bid for the Super Hoover Hum Vac and my limit is $300.00 and someone out bids me along the way, i will keep bidding until i reach my limit. That does not mean i'm driving the price up on purpose it just means i reached my limit and am out of the race. It is then fun to continue to watch the auction to see who wins and for how much! Remember the pink GE?

I know what it feels like to get into a frenzy about something and start bidding like crazy as it has happened to me once but usually i come to my senses now. I always thought ebay brought out the worst in people.

You two are also right again Thanks, Marty You are right I was going full force for the convertc vac I was even going to make a loan to get it. But late last nite, the collector that has the brown one and I finally came to an agreement as I have been after him for quite sometime now for it. The thing was We couldn't meet a happy medium so he in good faith did send me the Link to the ebay one but I did already have it. He even told me don't worry I won't bid against You. But then We did last night finally reach an agreement and It was to my advantage because this way I was getting myself in Maybe a rut to get the loan for it, I make good money but to make sure I would have won it I had to make a loan and then That loan is 16 months from being paid off and to renew it it would have been 4 years. So Think about it anybody with Common sense would make the deal that was better because the way I went I didn't have to make the loan after all. The collector did take the reins from me on the ebay coverto vac so I see where no harm was done.

I have an auction up right now for a kids bed. I have 3 people bidding for it. But, one of the bidders dropped out and went to another auction that was just listed. Oh well! That's what auctions are all about.

I am just glad that you found your dream machine and won't be breaking the bank to get it.

Heather I wished people could take lessons from You. You really have a great outlook on everything That's Fanastic. But Heather I bet your auctions are like most where they snipe them. I can't lie I usually snipe my auctions and I'm not a bad ebayer I have 100% feedback. I know I don't have to repeat myself but I promise you that converto vac will end up with a skyhigh final bid. after all this is only the second converto vac to show up on ebay since 2002. in fact the brown one i'm getting was the first one ebay back in 2002. to show You how times are changing the winning bid on it was 280.00, but it wasn't brand new in the box either but look at the difference in the bids. my belief is now there are more new collectors out there and again another thing. these flea markets and thrift stores are wising up to ebay because i know of a guy that would go to them and buy all of the vacs for like 5 to 10 dollars and put them on ebay and then go back to the flea market and tell them that he sold it for 288.00 on ebay. He couldn't understand why after he told them that, that suddenly they raised there prices to 100 dollars are better on there vacs. My other belief is watch now after this auction ends how suddenly all the converto vacs will be coming out of the walls and showing up on ebay. I know that alot of sellers when they find something too that they do a search of the completed auctions on the vac that they want to list and they see this very high winning bid and that's another reason why vintage vacs suddenly have a high bin or a high reserve. But everyday is differnt. An example I won a fairfax totally complete with even the preco turbo brush from canada my winning bid was 24.00. a week later the exact same fairfax with only the hose and wands and floor tool ended at 116.00. look at the electrolux model G's turquiose color some end up with a high winning bid others end up getting like 20.00. It boils down to who see's the auction. With this converto vac the seller announce it to all of the vacs groups plus here. So I think every collector and then some have seen this one on ebay. I think another plus here is he went with a 10 day auction so that way more and more people end up seeing it.

My Converto Vac

I was totally suprise that some Vac shops there have parts for the motors. My convecto vac carbon brushes were stuck and I brought it to Gerald to repair. The brushes were fine didn't need replacing at all. He did tell me that the main bearing was starting to make a noise but he does have that part in stock. Gerald told me as soon as I don't use the converto vac as my daily driver it should be alright for a very long time. it is a rather easy vac to work on also. It does have great suction as well to. I am hoping one day to find the hose and attachments for it but that will be slim to none but one can hope.
