not that familiar with dryers but it's a whirlpool imperial from the 50's i would guess. although it's listed with a washer and says 1962?

this one someone will probably want!

<span style="font-family: helvetica;">My Mom had that dryer when I was a kid.  She had the matching washer.  I remember the control panel that would light up.  I also remember her using the Suds Saver feature on the washer.  I thought it was so cool the Suds Saver water would fill from the bottom.</span>

It looks like that the original 1956 washer that went with this dryer lasted till 1969.

 

13 Years was considered a good life for a washer from the 50s so they bought another Whirlpool. 

 

Dryer probably was not used much and the kids grew up and moved out so the 69 WP actually lasted 52 years.

 

With smaller families and more single people with multiple homes imagine how many washers and dryers from the 2000s and on that we will see that are 50 years old in the future.

Is a 1969 Model, first year for the poly agitator and the tiny crest pattern on the control panel was only used on 69 models.

That dryer looks awfully familar.... LOL    I _finally_ seem to have got mine running again after a series of unfortunate events with that weird-ass fan switch that controls the power to the heater.  The switch in mine burnt and I wound up completely bypassing it, adding a relay instead.

Someone out here in the Los Angeles area found the same dryer but in gas with with the 37,000 btu burner in it and 4bagger owns that dryer. My friend Tyler in NC also has the same dryer in gas but with the 25,000 btu burner in it and it has a chicken wire type of material for the perforated drum back. These are good dryers but are really only meant to be paired up with a smaller capacity machine like the older 60’s belt drive washers or a Maytag short tub washer since something from a larger capacity machine might be a bit much for those older Whirlpool dryers since they are meant for 8 to 10 pounds of laundry and if you put too many clothes in the incoming air will bypass the drum and will really bog down the performance and I did try drying a load of laundry from my Maytag A606 which I believe has a 14 pound capacity in my 1963 RCA Whirlpool Imperial dryer and the load was mostly dried but were still some damp clothes after drying for 60 minutes time. Maybe I’ll look into putting felt strips below the incoming air inlet and exhaust outlet but I’ll have to see since it seems to work just fine with drying clothes from it’s matching Mark XII washer.
